I seem to have a bit of an issue with my Sniper Z87, wonder if anyone can shed any light on the problem, if I shut down my PC and then switch back on later its fine, however if I shut down and remove the power cord to change anything internally like fans etc, I struggle like hell to get it to post, its always getting stuck at code 15, after about 20 clear cmos later its starts to show some signs of life.

          Hi,

I had the same problem as you, yet managed to get to the Windows Logo before it would freeze up. The freezing would only happen on a Cold Boot, just like you've mentioned - pulled power cable out, turned Pc on, froze up.
I tried formatting Windows, updating the Bios to F2b, messed around with Bios settings, yet these didn't fix it. It drove me crazy! I read up that Fast boot causes issues with some systems, so I disabled it - and since Windows has booted each time without any issues.

Here's how you disable it - Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 8

Good luck, please let me know how you get on.

Anybody here updated to Bios F3b for the G1 Sniper Z87? It really is daft to release a Bios and only quote something along the lines of stability improvements without any detailed info. They may as well throw out placebo Bios's..

Thanks, seems to be ok so far, just disabled it easily by disabling hibernation

As for F3b bios mod, ive not flashed it yet either, but if you have and noticed any big changes please let us know, im quite happy with F2b and don't see any need to change yet.

Could someone please update or mail me a how to, to modify a GA-X58A-UD3R (rev2.0) Bios with the latest versions of Intel chip set.
Also how do I check if I have the VT-d unlocked in that version bios.
I found the basic FH bios was not right and was very unstable. I did message Gigabyte the problem's but they did not seem to care, I still have the email reply's from Gigabyte at the time.
At moment I use the bios off the first thread. have noticed 1-2 posts with Bios updates but unsure if newer of what is done.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Do you know if the FH bios is still beta, as i believe it was and that being the last bios update on there site As soon as 1 year is up they stop all support no matter what stage.

See your the man about the bios's Stasio.

                        As I have said I am useing GA-X58A-UD3R Rev2.0 Mod2 Bios.
I understand the guide but got 1-2 questions, like your driver section. I don't see a list with all the newer intel rom's. e.g Intel rst 13.xxx

After looking on this thread I see others post's but i would like to update all i can in the bios the Realtec Lan, Intel Rom any CPU micro code's for the i7 etc and anything you would recommend as I see the Rev1.0 has a newer Intel Rom than Rev 2.0.

This would be unreal to help me and I will get updating that bios
