There is still no update for the Gbe? Mine is 1.3 and I saw a thread for the X79 that had 1.5, but I can't find anything for Z87.
    You probably mean my thread.

There's quite a chance for this to work for you too.

Virtualfred however found later that only 1 or 2 bytes were different in 1.5 compared to 1.3, we are very unsure tho if this means a real difference or not since this could mean anything from no change to those bytes being parameters that disable or enable features.

    Hope that helps...

Yes that's the thread I was talking about.
I tried it before flashing my current BIOS, and it worked. Windows detected a completely different hardware (82579V instead of I217-V), but everything looked OK if I reckon correctly.
When I flashed this BIOS I forgot to update the Gbe so it's back to 1.3, and it works quite well too so I'm probably not going to update it, especially if there's little to no change.

Hey TT I have a few questions about this modified BIOS:

        1. What does this BIOS actually do/update?

        2. Is MEI required for modified BIOS?

        Thanks.

            Fred or Stasio,

Could one of you please build me a bios for the X58A-UD5 Revision 1.0 with all of the latest beta/modules? I believe it would just be F8b Mod 4 with the latest Intel RAID module.

Thank you very much in advance!

Frankly I just had to look it up, the i217V was new to me. But it looks that the PRO/1000 PT (82572), 82579V and i217V are all successors of each other. The 579V had more features available in the driver than the PRO/1000PT, and the i217V seems to be a die-shrink of the 82579V that was only released in the last quarter of 2012.

It is possible that the i217V is having extended features too that might be disabled if it is appearing as 82579 now...you'd better leave that alone
if it's NOT the same chip.

                @ Virtualfred

                Hi virtualfred

If you have a spare moment, would you be able to mod the F4 bios for the X79S-UP5? Still having some issues with the latest F5C bios and since i have a rev 1.0 board I'm hoping going back to this one may help.

Modded BIOS has nothing with any HD audio.
                              Try to clear CMOS.

Then why would it come back when I flash stock bios back. Tried this 3 times just to make sure. Same results every time, the Intel HDMI audio would not load.
