Take no notice of windows reports ...cpuz is correct ...if you disable some power saving options in bios you may get the correct cpu freq ....windows experience is pooh ...take no notice of that either.

Thanks, I spoke to the tech team at scan this morning where I brought the CPU from, im new to haswell and the new bioses, the last one I overclocked was a Core i7 920 1366 on a G1 Sniper x58, What I didn't realise is with haswell you actually overclock the turbo rather than the main CPU itself, Gigabyte easytune told me this lol.

On a different note, all power saving options are already disabled, its the first thing I do with a bios, the C states and EIST etc, I think the only thing enabled in that menu actually is the cpu thermal monitor.

Currently im running Prime 95 with the CPU at 4.6ghz 1.277v reported by cpu-z, 1.284v reported by the bios and 1.293v reported by AIDA64, 4.6ghz was my target, I wont even try and push any further than that, especially with the voltage and temp limits, does anyone here object to using prime for stability testing ? im a bit old school like that and always used prime, I know AIDA comes with a test and theres also IBT, I will run a quick go on those, but prime for about 18 hours.

            • Mod BIOS GA-Z77MX-D3H - F17b

I would appreciate someone skilled could create and upload a modded BIOS (updated Option ROMs) for GA-Z77MX-D3H.

Because of needed functionality (UEFI boot from RAID) I had to upgrade to F16g (now F17b) but since F16g wakeup from S3 does not work any longer on my rig (machine powers up but screen stays black - no disk activity). F16d was the last working version. This is regardless of UEFI settings / Windows installation (tried fresh install with default settings). When I flash back to old version S3 works again (but then functionality is missing).

In Intel rapid storage release notes I found an related issue described. So I hope to get it back working with the option roms updated.

              Thx.

Hi, I have a question. I recently bought a GIGABYTE GA-Z87-D3HP. It's missing the option to disable HPET in bios. Is it possible to modify it to allow switching it on or off? Thank you.

Im quite happy with the F2 mod, and couldn't get my overclock stable with any of the official bioses
