  • Re: Time for me to upgrade ??

I always have my power states enabled, even those that are disabled by default.
You can disable them while you are experimenting.

      • Re: Time for me to upgrade ??

Try static vcore forst, a bit more than you had normal+dvid for 175x21 and perhaps LLC(LoadLine Calibration) enabled.
Try also 181x21 with same memory multi as for 175 but timings as for 1600.

In Guide: Lynnfield Overclocking on Asus P7P55D Deluxe Mainboard - X-bit labs they use x22 CPU ration, this abit annoying why this board don't let use it.

alright, back to yesterday's settings now, windows running fine

            *current overclock settings =

            175 x21=3.67ghz, ht on, turbo off, qpi ratio =32, cpu vcore = normal, dvid = +.04375, vtt= 1.27, dram=1.66v, memory 175x8=1400, 7-7-7-21

now, where do u want me to go..............don't understand the "static vcore" thing, isn't normal + the current dvid the same thing as static vcore ?

ok, 200x19=3800.......200x8=1600, 8-8-8-24.......(can't remember if i left vcore setting at normal+dvid, or changed to static 1.2, i think the former).........

into windows now, running prime95 to start testing.....temps are great, upper 40's-low50's, cpu-z reports core voltage at 1.2, as does easy tune

ok, i guess, linx, ibt, etc next.......

Yeah Dvid has worked up to 4.6+ for me with no issues. Depending on clock dvid may need +1 or -1 more then static vcore but thats about it.
