Ran LinX..........had HT on, so, I ran with that............4096mb test -3passes-------stopped with error during test,,,,,,,,,then again on a duplicate test.......some passes were finished= 47ish GFlops.....temps maxed out low 60's

so

I ran LinX again, again with HT on, this time ........1024 test- 3 passes, no problems at all......scores were 44-45 GFlops, good temps


so, now I am gonna reboot, shut HT OFF and run those tests again.........will try 4096 and 1024 again, i guess.

1024 not enough for 4 cores, at least 2MB for 4 threads and 4096 for 6 threads.
Just make sure how many threads are running, and you can change it in settings.

Normally LinX give me somewhat lower Flops and temps than IBT, but fails where INT does not.

ok, turned HT off.........1024, 3passes, 52ish Gflops, no problems
4096, 3 passes, 54 GFlop, had error after one pass.
2096, 3 passes, 52ish Gflops, no problems

lemmie go check how many threads its testing.........

With LinX or IBT if your not using MAX memory your not fully stressing the system. If it pass with only 1gb or 2gb of ram but fails when using 4gb or more then the system is not fully stable yet.

With LinX or IBT if your not using MAX memory your not fully stressing the system. If it pass with only 1gb or 2gb of ram but fails when using 4gb or more then the system is not fully stable yet.

Should be 3072 :)
Lets Stick to 2048 for 4 threads and 4096 for 8 threads.
Try Adding vcore, if you have EasyTune installed you can do it without reboot, but you will need to set the value in BIOS later. Not sure about the DVID option though.
If possible, change the value and click the green "set" button, re-run LinX/IBT

ok, a couple of questions.......first of all, when you say add vcore, do you mean increasing the dvid,? and if so, to what value......i think u had me at +.03125 at this point with the next available option +.0375......... and no, ET doesn't let me change dvid.

secondly, when u say test for 4 threads and 8 threads.......do you mean....... "test for 4 threads" = HT off (only 4 threads available).......and "test for 8 threads" = HT on (8 threads are available)..................OR do you mean..........regardless of HT on or off, choose the number of threads tested from the settings menu of LinX and IBT ?

sorry, this stuff is all new to me.........sometimes I am confused (my friends will tell you more than just sometimes ;) )

With HT off make sure only 4 threads are set in LinX.
When HT on I wanted to see the difference between 4 and 8. If 4 threads or 8 threads will yield same score as HT off then we can test with HT on.

If ET6 don't kt you change DVID you can change to static vcore instead normal+DVID, so it's possible to change in ET6, and at the end see what DVID is required.

WDIT: but still use 512MB per thread weather you run 8 or 4.

ok, got it, much clearer......thanks ;)

so, with today's OC , ibt just tested fine with 2048mb, 4 threads, HT OFF....cpu vcore=normal, dvid +.0375v,, qpi/vtt 1.27 , three passes, 51.9, 52.4, 52.4, and temps cool

so, now, i will see what happens when i turn on HT and test 4 threads vs. 8 threads........
(with 2048 test for 4 threads, and 4096 for 8 threads)

Run both 8 and 6 threads with 4096MB, will be better comparison.

with HT on, all other settings the same, LinX three passes of each.................4 threads, 2048 =48-49 GFlops............ 6 threads, 4096 = 51 GFlops............. 8 threads , 4096....47 GFlops on first two passes, then ERROR........so, increasing Vcore Dvid is next....I guess....?...back shortly
