      Re: GA-X58A-UD7 - *Non-Official Thread*

      Hi people's
      I am about to pull my case apart and install some new components being:

      - OCZ 6G(3x2G) DDR3 Blade C9 2000Mhz
      - Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
      - Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7

      I am pretty limited in knowledge. I can put it together. My issues are as follows, any help sarcastic or genuine will be appreciated. The drivers available at gigabyte for the UD7 GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Driver
      are bothering me.

      The hard drives in my PC are as follows.

      - Windows 7 64bit OS will be on a Raptor 300GB.
      - 5 WD 500GB no raid config
      - 1 WD 640 GB
      - 1 samsung 1TB

      I dont think I will be utilizing AHCI (tried it didnt like the delay in reading ext drives). I will not be overclocking.

      The drivers from gigabyte are are:

      * GIGABYTE SATA2 Driver
      * Marvell Console Driver (SATA3)
      * Marvell RAID Utility (SATA3)
      * Intel SATA RAID Driver
      * NEC USB 3.0 Driver

      ? Do I install them all regardless of what I am going to configure ?

      cheers

      ants.

                Hey mine fits also. The part is identical to X58 EXTREME one, and yes it does not fit really good but definetly apply some thermalpaste and put it on healps a lot. I can't really see from picture but on your heatpipe end i see strange hook lol so might be really goodto RMA on the other hand 5mm Tweek.
                About Dominators same qoestion. I know on Extreme I had to run them on 1333MHz 12G. Apparently motherboards fault so I am also interested if you have all 12G or is it just 6 runnin on 1600MHz.

                    Just checked both of mines and on both Heatpipe and Heatpipe groove looks same. Fins on mine are far from so close to those two caps for liquid cooling. Other then that looks same as on your picture.

                        About memory see the reply above.
                        About the fitting, it's not even remotely possible to get it in place as it is at the moment. The heat-pipes on the underneath of the cooler is where the thermal paste is supposed to go, on top at the flat surface.

                        Sorry but that will not be any better. Because it's to the left I have to get the cooler 5mm if you are looking at my picture.

                        Well thanks for all the reply's but I think I have too get a new one from Gigabyte. But if I have to RMA the whole board then the cooler will not end up in my board.

                          After your post i hasd another look at the picture and yes true there is no chanche that part is correct on. I focused on a gap betwen fins and twho heatpipes but the whole stripe of aluminium betwen the Silent pasive-pipe didn't see. That is just wrong there should paste be.
                          Imo you have wrong part or gigabyte made a big mistake. Its just not right after taking a close look there should be two holes for screws, anyway tnx for corection and that part is way off how it should sit.
