  • GA-X58A-UD7 - * Official Thread *

    Hi,

Being one of the luck few to have a GA-X58A-UD7 in operation, I thought we could have a thread to post Issues, Thoughts, Temps, OC Results etc.

    Have fun,
    - K

      Weird.

Bios reports CPU as i920 2.88Ghz (133x21).. which is the Turbo Clock. BIOS clock set to 20x

no.. but the UD5 always reported the CPU in POST for what it was... not what it could be :)

The latest beta bios for the UD5 lets you set the multi at 21 ;)

I was tempted by the UD7 but I don't like the slot layout. On the UD5 I can do 3-way SLI or CF, and have the top PCIe x4 slot for my RAID controller. Can't do that with the UD7 :(

yeah x21 is nothing special, but the POST screen, should only report the native clocks and CPU type.

Nope, the POST screen shows 200x21=4200 on my UD5 right now.

for now I have 2 boards: EXtreme and UD7.
                    ud7 bclk=220 - no post.
With extreme I can get it stable.

the new bioses set turbo multi 21x automatically no matter if you have 20x or 21x set in bios, post screen will show 21x if turbo tech is enabled
if I set 20x in bios + turbo enabled, post will report 200x21

If Turbo is enabled, even with x19 multi set, 21 will be used on all boards.

Just got this board yesterday. Loving it so far, I'm brand new to i7 and I'm already rock solid stable at 4.2GHz

Many more updates to come over the next few days as I get used to this board.
