          To Kuff:
          I can't Boot a Win7 x64 from a IDE RAID
I've try to do a AHCI RAID instead of a IDE RAID, same thing.
??? If you want to run your sata controllers in RAID they must be set to RAID in Bios
I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. If your hard drives are hooked to the GSATA and you want RAID-0 you will need to pre-set the GSATA controller to RAID in Bios. If they are hooked to the SATA controller the same you will need to preset the SATA controllers in bios to RAID.
Here is a pdf of your motherboard manual. It does explain how to setup and install Windows as a RAID-0. http://download.gigabyte.ru/manual/m...a-ud4(p)_e.pdf
If you need more help. You may explain which SATA controller you got your harddrives hooked to Example (GSATA) or intel (SATA)
Then copy this template and go into bios and fill out the template as to how your BIOS Integrated Peripherals are set up. Then come back here and post the template with your settings so we can see them and someone can further assist you. Lets not use failsafe, and any time you Load Optimized Defaults the bios will set it back to a standard IDE setting. This will cause the OS in RAID to not be functional until you set the SATA function back to RAID.

First off, be sure you are now starting from Optimized Defaults before you go further.

Set GSATA to AHCI and then enter the next RAID controller screen and build your array.

You must be loading this RAID Pre-OS install driver while win 7 starts the install:
            ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/driver/mo...ootdisk_64.exe

JRAID is for the other ports, not the Marvell ones. The Intel RAID Ports are the fastest anyway, is there any reason why you are not using those? Marvell drivers are not very good yet, so they are slower than the Intel ones for sure.

Hi I'm having trouble with the new system i just built. My specs are as follows:

My problem is as that for some reason my sytem wont load an operating system, when i go into the bios and select the HD as first boot, then CDROM as second. So far it keeps going and says that I need to insert a boot disc. Also the only way it has booted windows has been with the windows cd in the CDROM. I have tried to go into and repair my start up boot, but it wont do it. Also for some reason its detecting my Ram as 1333 instead of 1600. Please help me thank you.

                Hello Everyone,
                I just bought an ex58-ud5 bios (F12), with i7 920, geforce 9800gtx+, and 3x2gb ocz platinum OCZ3P1333LV6GK.

I can't figure what s the problem with my system. Triple channel doesn't work.

I set for 7-7-7-20(CAS, tRCD, tRP, tRAS), command rate of 2t, and 1.66 volts.

1 - first I tested each memory individually with memtest boot. all of them worked (i just ran the test for 15 minutes tough - one pass)

2 - then i tested each slot individually and all of the slots worked . i tested only the white slots. (again I memtest ran for only 15 minutes - one pass)

3 - The problem is when I run triple channel. I always get errors from memtest. I manage to setup my bios so the memtest would run once with no errors, but then it would crash again. This is very frustrating.

I believe the problem is with my memories that I will have to Return. but the question is that they passed the memtest individually (for 15 min or one pass). What you guys think should be?

                Thanks

You need to go into advanced BIOS page, then into hard disk boot priority and then move your hard drive by name to the top of the list.

Your memory would need to be set by you manually.

I can help you with this, will you please make a new thread with your issues and again and also post your full BIOS settings in a template from my signature.

It is probably just you are not using the correct settings, I'll help ya get going for sure! Just would like a new thread so we can keep things clear that we discuss.

This thread was meant as a "Hello" thread really, everyone should always just go ahead and make their own thread, that was it is easier to keep track of who has tried what, ect.

                  Thanks

I have set my memory to 1600 already thank you. As to the Hard Disk boot priority, I had set it to the top of the list already and when i go to set as first boot instead of cdrom, thats when the problem of operating system not found, also if i have the windows cd in my cdrom in these settings, it will go as if it was a new windows installation.

Yes in this setting i have set Hard Disk Boot Priority the hard drive that i want to boot at top list, then as first boot device i have the hard drive, then 2nd boot is cdrom, 3rd boot is my floppy. With these setting i get that windows operating system doesnt load. As to the 2nd list you gave me i have the factory settings on them, i havent touched them.

                          supremealpha1 Which Windows is it.
Is it possible when you setup and installed Windows you performed it for AHCI mode? I am assuming you connected the hard drive to the onchip SATA controller. This is SATA2_0
I am unsure as to where you have it connected.
You may want to try changing these settings to see for sure.

Is it possible when you setup and installed Windows you performed it for AHCI mode?
I'm not sure what AHCI means, but its an IDE Hard drive, thats why im confused as to what is wrong.

Oh I'm sorry I overlooked that when checking your hardware configuration. Please forget all my previous settings.
You may want to go into bios and load optimized defaults again save and exit.
If you wish to connect two IDE devices, remember to set the jumpers and the cabling according to the role of the IDE devices (for example, master or slave). (For information about configuring master/slave settings for the IDE devices, read the instructions from the device manufacturers.)
One end of the ide ribbon is to be plugged into the motherboaerd. The other end is for the slave device. The connection in the middle is for the master device. Be sure to set both drives jumpers either one master and the other slave with the coresponding ribbon connection as above, or both to CS for cable select.

Great forums. I have learned a lot here and thanks to all. I upgraded to a Q9550 and having issues. Here is my first setup that is working perfectly before the Q9550 upgrade.

                                GA-EP45-UD3P 1.1 (F8) Purchased 5/2009.
                                Intel E8500 overclocked 422x9.5=4001
EVGA GTX260 (197.13 drivers) not overclocked
                                Raid 0
                                Xigmatek 650PSU
                                Corsair Dominator PC8500 DDR2 Ram (2x2G) (5-5-5-15) 1013mhz.
True 120 Heat Sink with 120MM Fan
Antec Nine Hundred case 5 120mm and 1 140mm fans
                                Win 7 Ult 64-bit
Latest chip, raid, audio, nic drivers from Gigabyte

Issue: I purchased a Q9550 EO step to replace the E8500 which my son will get.
My problem is it is I am randomly getting a "nvlddmkm.sys" blue screen or a frozen desktop any time I run 3d apps/games (3dmark2006, Batman Asylum,etc.). This does not happen when I have the E8500 chip. Chip is not being overclocked. It passes Memtest (6 hours), Prime95 (10 hours) and Intel Burn Test 30 passes (no core going over 62c). All other apps (Office, Photoshop, Coreldraw, etc.) have no issues. I have tried bios F8, F9, F10 with optimized defaults with same result. I even cleared the CMOS after each bios flash. I again set settings to optimized defaults (ram at 800mhz), I formatted and installed Win7 again with latest Gigabyte drivers and 3dMark stills freezes or BSOD. I have swapped out the ram, purchased a new Corsair 750PSU and tried different Nvidia drivers with still the same result. I then swapped out the Q9550 with the E8500 on the fresh Win7 install and the problem stops. Installed the Q9550 on my sons Dell (Win7 x86) and he has no issues with 3dMark or his games. I have googled this error and there is no definite fix but I have tried everything they have suggested. For once I am at a lost and I can only think it is the motherboard having some issue with the Q9550. I do not want to throw more money at this without at least getting some advice from Gigabyte. Right now I am back to the E8500.
                                Thanks.
