Hmm. I think Alt + F12 backs up main bios on my Z68. I know there's posts here about it, when I first came here LSD or Ace or Wazza told me, I'm pretty sure.
I haven't fired up my Gigabyte Z68 in a while, need to get that rig sold, I don't use it anymore.

Stasio didn't say which of the http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...beta-bios.html posts had the information.
It's at the top of the first post, but it needs flashing colored text for it to stand out

Yes from Z68-P45 is ALT-F12 to copy main bios to backup and Ctrl+F12 to copy backup bios to main bios.

For x79/z77 its ALT+F10 to copy main bios to backup. I did not try the Ctrl+F10 but I would assume that would work also for copping backup bios to main bios.

Will also post this on first page of this thread and I will use Flahing color text to make it stand out for you ProfJim

Yes boondocks I was using my Logitech G15 keyboard which is wired.

I have your keyboard and mouse here I can try on my system. Does your keyboard get you into bios? If it does that it should do the bios flash.

Ok I just tried the Logitech EX100 wireless keyboard and mouse. Keyboard will enter bios and both keyboard and mouse work in bios. The keyboard will not do the alt+F10 bios copy. So yes you will have to use a wired keyboard.

Yep, knew that. That's why I said I'll dig out the wired later on, I got it boxed up with the Z68 rig I'm trying to sell. Or wait until tomorrow and borrow my wifes wired KB, idk.
Come to think of it I have to dig it out anyway, gonna have the Switch and the HAF in here pretty soon.

Ace, are you running RAID on your mobo? Or anyone else? I'm getting ready to fire up the other UD5 pretty soon, haven't set up RAID in years and years. Going to use the 2 Samsung 830 128GB SSD's. Is this pretty straight forward or anything to look out for. Ashamed I don't know this stuff.....
Am I going to have to go in and setup the SSD's so it won't try to default to GPT like my other drive did, or will the RAID rom pretty much take control? Do I use XHD/preinstall drivers?
Just trying to avoid any ooops! Need this to go smoothly. Of course I could always RTM, but what's the fun in that? lol.

It should be straight forward, with both drives connected set the sata controller to raid and just boot windows as if you only had 1 hdd/ssd. You should not need any preinstalled drivers and Windows should have drivers already. Once the OS is installed the download and install the latest Intel RST drivers.

I did forget that you will have to press CTRL+I I beleive to enter the intel raid configuration and create the raid array. You would want to set up a raid0 array for speed.

As for trim working I would need to mod your bios with the latest raid rom. If you want you can set it all up with your current bios/raid rom and do a test then flash to the modded bios and compare the changes if any. You will not have to recreate the array or anything just reaply your overclock and make sure sata controller is set to raid before you try to boot to windows.

Got my new build with my other UD5H fired up finally. Getting to the RAID menu was a pain for some reason, but otherwise everything looking good. Set up a quick x45 overclock, haven't really tested it out much. Was hopeful when I looked at the Samsung utilities for the SSD's because it supposedly had enhanced utilities for TRIM and garbage collection, but alas it won't see the drives in RAID.
                            I'll get some ASSD data....

                            EDIT: here's the 128GB Samsung 830's in RAID 0

glad to hear you got it working. So moving from a SSD to a raid0 with ssd's is it really worth it?
