I got some issue after qflashing the latest z77-ud5h f16 mod11 BIOS from the official f15q beta one (doing safe procedures like reset CMOS, defaulted all settings, etc). Firstly, I keep updating the BIOS since it STILL doesn't recognize my Qpad MK85 keyboard on boot that prevent me to go in the BIOS nor choosing Windows pre-boot safe mode options after some unexpected crash (by exemple enabling Hyper-V along with VirtualBox is a WRONG idea, now I know what not to do anymore).

I was forced to use two keyboards then, for an unknown reason I always had some BIOS error every 3~5 normal reboots telling me to reload the optimized default settings since there were an unexpected reboot (which were not) and the one I usually use isn't recognized in spite of all the settings/guide/forum post I read. That's for the story, then I discovered this thread. :)

I was happy to see that my primary keyboard is AT LAST recognized with the z77-ud5h f16 mod11 ! And the first reboot went well. Then I had to set some things up like my RAID 0 on Marvell chip, disabling the Intel video card, IEEE and such since I don't use them, then enabling some others like virtualization, turbo boost (for an unknown it sometimes stuck at 3.40 GHz even when I "force" enable it with the previous BIOS) and RAM interleaving ; nothing much, no overcloaking or aggressive settings. But after a reboot, I got myself in a infinite reboot loop.

I checked the error number in the motherboard, it always reboots right after the 9A code (the manual says "USB initialization process").
I tried to clear CMOS, but then it freezes at the error code A6 which says "Detect and install all currently connected SCSI devices." Nothing else happens afterward.

I found though the Interweb how to copy the backup BIOS which I'm using (f4) to the main with CTRL/Alt+F10 which is not working since the motherboard seems to reboot itself before the keyboard initialization, nor after a clear CMOS since the BIOS isn't loaded yet.

I then tried the BIOS Recover Method Via Manually Invoking BACKUP BIOS Auto-Recovery
Using Power Supply - On/Off Switch (http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ash-guide.html) without any success : when I keep the power button pressed then turns the rear power button on, the PC's booting than it turns off really fast right after, a matter of seconds (at code 47 if I recall well), I think it too soon for the motherboard to "check the input" for performing the auto recovery. I also tried to release the button a bit earlier to avoid a power off but it didn't do the trick, I got right after the infinite reboot loop or freeze (if I reset CMOS), the second after.

So I wonder if I can still recover my main BIOS or update the backup one (I doubt I'll do that though). Possible or not, at last I shared my experiences. :)

How many MB are you using ?

For the moment i prefer include OROM/EFI 13.1.0.2030 only in Z77/Z87 BIOSes and 12.7.0.1936 for older, Fernando is testing modded one for previous ICH (P67/Z68)...

Hello Virtualfred! As you can see i'm a big Gigabyte fan, infact i use mostly GB motherboards because i think they're well made.
OK for the Intel ROM version, let's wait for the results of Fernando and if all will be safe and stable even when integrating the OROM/EFI 13.1.0.2030 into the P67/Z68 ICH, i'll ask you another mod with the newest version (and my debt to you will grow bigger and bigger... ).

Could not install new driver so I just reinstalled Win 7 Pro 64....after installing new IRST driver SSD's are about 10% faster over Windows driver...but HDD's are about the same both ways.

I don't have a comparison with the earlier orom & drivers, I forgot to do it with BIOS F8e mod 1 & IRST driver 12.8.6.1000 before I reinstalled Windows. I've had such a problem with IRST drivers not wanting to install I'm hesitant to back up and try the earlier ones again......

But anyway this BIOS working good for me, thanks again to virtualfred.

Thanks, I just asked for F7 mod with latest drivers because F7 is the latest official bios. I tend to stay away from beta, but I actually just went ahead and installed the F8K mod and its good, seems stable at 4.4ghz and 1.185 vcore.

Thanks for reply, no problem if you will make mod without Marvell updates. I made some changes, don't need more Intel RAID ROM 12.7.0.1936, but required 11.2.0.1527.
Also necessary two BIOS versions.
1st with: Intel RAID ROM 11.2.0.1527, Realtek LAN ROM 2.58.
2nd with: Intel RAID ROM 11.6.0.1702 (with TRIM in RAID0), Realtek LAN ROM 2.58.

Does HPET timer exist in the Z87 boards?

Since there is no option to turn it on/off in BIOS like in previous versions, I wondered if only the Windows timers are used ??
