OK, thanks for your feedback, so it's better to wait new OROM/EFI RAID 13.**** or new modded one specially for X79...

That was the reason I asked earlier if there is any difference in BIOS-es between rev.1.0 and rev.1.1, and if you know which one is used in this mod!
I have strange issues and would like to ask if anyone could take a look at that mod please!
    Thanks!
Also, if it is possible to mod a vanilla rev.1.0 F4 official so I can always default to this!
    Thank you guys, great work!

Pc wouldn't boot boot first time this morning, after a reset all ok, I guess we do need to wait for the official mainstream versions of the new sata 13, I gather the modded efi sata driver wasn't meant for x79 anyway right?. I carry on using it for a few more days, if I get more problems then im def flashing back. The burst rate as improved for some reason, could be why my drives have gone so noisy or it could be that the sata driver isn't working properly, I like the burst rate so that's why im gonna test a few more days, just hope it doesn't cause any damage, already had one hardware crash, I was installing mei software as I didn't reinstall after changing cpu and boom... pfn list corrupt!, gather it was the writing to the hhds that caused it.EDIT: Silly me... its a clean install lol, im loosing my mind haha. CAN WE GET SOME FEEDBACK OF OTHER MODDERS USING SATA OROM 13 AND EFI SATA DRIVER 13 PLEASE, ANY PROBLEM AT ALL.

I'm running GA-Z87X-UD5H F8e Mod 2 BIOS, (13.x orom) but I'm unable to install any IRST driver, or uninstall the current version (12.8.0.1016).....so I guess I have no useful feedback on that...
Anyone have a tip on uninstalling the current IRST driver? It always gives a message that there was an install error. Checking the repair option or trying to install a newer driver all give the same message.....

@boondocks: in Device Manager, try manually reverting to the original Microsoft device driver.
If Intel RST appears in Control Panel/Programs, uninstall from there.
Then reboot and see whether the driver version 13.x can be installed.

Yep, I've already tried both ways, but no good.
Trying to uninstall from Control Panel / trying to install a new version always ends in error message.
Removing from Device Manager still wouldn't let me get rid of it.

I think I have an answer for you: if you have MBR Partitioning, then you couldn't boot up any of your systems. It is because UEFI can't work with this old-style partitioning version. You gonna repartition your boot drive (with data loss; backup your files) to the GPT (GUID Partition Scheme) and then reinstall your systems. GParted or Partition Magic or Paragon Partition Tool or Acronis Disk Director woud help you with repartitioning. Maybe GParted or Partition Magic would be a better choice to partition with the GPT, because it could create a normal GUID with ESP (EFI Secure Partition). I'm using the Disk Utility from MAC OS X and with this I have no problems at all.

                PS.
Is the way to mod the old (not UEFI) AWARD BIOS with 13-th version of Intel Legacy RAID for SATA 13.1.0.2030 and the other new stuff for GA-X58A-UD7 rev. 1.0 F9d and post it in the first topic? Please!

PPS. Are able anybody to MOD bioses not only for GA motherboards, but the notebooks' Lenovo or Asus or else with onchip UEFI-BIOS (AMI or another) ?

Hi Steve...no, this was not an issue I have experienced as I am always starting from clean drive, means, any boot record removed by secure erase. That means drive is in brand new condition without any boot records on it. The issues I have experience was, if I do enable UEFI only, I cannot see any drive attached to my controllers, regardless of state. Not as AHCI, IRST nor IRSTe...and no, not driver bound as well as no driver will make that controller to be visible to system.
Another issue was inability to boot any live USB stick as I did before, therefore Ubuntu Studio Live, Ubuntu and even OpenSuse did not worked out. I am not going to say about MacOS as everyone recommend me that mobo for...no way, never ever worked.
So, only option I had was to enable UEFI and Legacy options in BIOS and this will show me the controller and the drive.
Kinda strange situation as I am coming to the Intel platform after using an AMD for centuries with no issues at all, except no MacOS support but this is just for fun anyway. I don't remember having any of above problems using neither of my AMD rigs, but this is obviously way to go...lool!
After initial setup, getting all those little critters in order, mean IRSTe, ME blah blah...the thing works, but I am far from being happy with results. That was my original reason to turn to this forum...to find solution for apparently great mobo...with lots of issues!
Overclocking on this one is absent, besides multi spining...anything with straps never worked for me. Memory compatibility is, well...no memory compatibility...each of those 8 slots singing it's own song...and general performance wise, again..I am about to find if there's any performance to be found!
Still, after using this modded BIOS-es, thanks to Virtualfred, I can actually use this machine. Prior to that I've seen so many strange behaviours that I couldn't believe how on Earth is possible to create such a mess!!! Honestly, I have seen a BSOD one way or another, but seeing BSOD, GSOD, PSOD and even YSOD is beyond belief! The first letter before SOD means colour! I also had this mobo for nearly 3 months and haven't been able to POST to get into BIOS...there were no way to reset the BIOS...no matter what you do! You might pull the plug, battery, short the pins push the switch on the back, call the aliens to help you out...yet once you put all this back, you experience same constant reboots until end of the time! Crazy...

I think it is because you haven't had properly CPU microcode onboard before you've updated the MODded version with your CPU support.

Sorry, I have no UEFI MB on my own, but from personal experience when I have to boot a drive w/o GPT, mobo says that it sees no drives, only web install (PXE). IMHO, that's the reason. But with GPT I have no issues and all works perfect.

Ive installed an intel gigabit desktop nic, its seems to of integrated itself into the bios, does it have its own pxe and efi or is it using the motherboard?, as ive flashed the efi driver and pxe through the flash util, so does it have its own?.

I have installed an intel desktop nic and updated it with the latest pxe and efi files with success so maybe adding the efi file wil make the bios integrated one work?. G1assassin2 x79 f12y mod, sata efi/orom 13. I know its useless to me but like everything to work whether I use it or not. Looks like its not an efi version that as been implemented, as my intel desktop nic didn't show up until I flashed the efi version 6.024 I can give you the file but its a multiple file ie, iscsi/pxe/efi.

Can this "GA-Z87X-UD3H BIOS F7" be updated with the latest drivers? Or should I just grab the current mod?

                                Thanks,
