Yes, I have tried 12y. Same thing with the OC, any change to the BLCK is unstable and unusable.
Haven't used the fast boot. Didn't see the point, SSD FTW.

Does anyone else have the same mobo/cpu combination?

F12y is fine for overclocking, I have the blck changed, dynamic vcore on, works a treat, just that dumbass fastboot, its useless and its not getting fixed because the issues are classed as normal doh. Are you using the new cpu(ivy-e) theres something you have to set manually to 0.01 instead of auto, I cant remember what it is, your overclocks then become stable, also you have to up the power limits. Old cpu'sare working great, im waiting for a newer bios before I swap out the cpu, infact, ive just waisted my money, theres not much of a performance boost at all wit the new cpu's. According to your specs you have the same cpu. Ah, I just noticed your psu, I think you need at least 800 high efficiency psu, with plenty of ampage. You have a heck of a lot of stuff running on your psu, I really don't think its enough. Also, why do you need a 125mhz blck to oc @4.37ghz?, just set it to 103mhz, set multiplier to 43, turbo to 44.44.43.43, set your dynamic vcore, sorted., of course you need to set your ram,

I was able to sustain the 4.37 OC with the current hardware (read: PSU) two days ago, only change has been the BIOS.
A change to 103mhz will only produce an increase of 100Hz (3.6 - 3.7)
My CPU being the non K little brother of the 2011 series, the BLCK strap was my only option for OC'ing. Untill BIOS 12w it was working very well.
Changing the multiplier only, as you suggest, will change the cpu in bios, but that doesn't seem to hold once windows starts (according to CPU-Z).

Any clue why the 12w has write proteced my current BIOS, stopping me from switching back to 12L?

Im using the same cpu, your multiplier can go to 43. You need to use @BIOS to flash back to the older type bios, f12y, overclock ratiofixed, meaning it now should show up when adjusting the multiplier, ratio didn't show in bios before but still overclocked, trust me, flash f12y, set cpu multiplier to 43, bclk to 103, turbo ratio to 44.44.43.43., add +0.025 on dynamic vcore, adjust your ram, or leave it and give a little voltage. you will get a turbo boost to 4.5 and idle at 3.7

I'm still pretty new to this OC business, previously all I had to do was change the BLCK, not had to play with voltage/ram settings before.

WTB modded F8b bios for OC Force. Poor board is so neglected :p I blame the engi who decided it was a good idea to add unchangeable barbs and then make them 3/8 lol /boggle

Imagine my disappointment upon arriving home after my 50 mile ride and spending over 400 dollars on a mobo. I eyeballed this and the asus and wouldn't ya know my determining factor was the integrated cooling lol!

Hello Virtualfred! I've flashed the 2 new modded BIOSes and i've tested the integrated graphics (one on a Sandy Bridge and one on a Ivy Bridge) and all is fine and work as expected.
On the Z77X-UP5 TH i've used the modded BIOS that you suggested (z77xup5th_mod8_mefw.12j is with ME FW 8.1.51.1471) and all is working good.

Forgot to let you know, your main turbo boost target will be just over 4.3, but because 2 cores are at 44, it will boost to 4.5 when needed. You may even be able to go less than +0.025/+0.25, or you may need a little more depending on your cpu, my config is a guideline youll need to runn occt or intelburntest for at least half an hour. Voltage should go to 1.284/285, should be plenty in theory. Virtualfreds f12y modded bios is stable honest.

I've a GA-P67A-UD3-B3 updated with the UEFI BIOS U1A, and I would like to upgrade to the beta version U1D because now I do not think it will be released other. I saw that you posted unofficial custom BIOS: do you could create a customised version of the BIOS U1D for my motherboard, updated with the latest updates?!? It would be a nice Christmas gift!!!

hhmmm, I really don't understand why f12y isn't working for you, your the only one that's had OC issues so far, I still think the psu is causing unstability, could be wrong. You may want to give gigabyte support an email, explaining your situation, describe your rig and config, see if they can reproduce it. Of course don't tell them its was the modded version bios, those updated modules shouldn't affect OC performance. You didn't turn on secure boot did you?, without a uefi.gop VBIOS it wont post. Are you still idling at a lower freq, or you just have the 100%/4.37ghz 24/7?, think about the economy lad lol.
