    @virtualfred:

Hm, you gonna mod F13z for the UD5? Tigers are lazy but they CAN do it themselves...

I noticed something in F13y. For the first time EVER I had to increase Vtt to 1.12V as I used to do with strap 125 overclocking to get stability. Looks like GA BIOSses are getting to the same behavior as the rest of the S2011 world. ;)

      Hi lazy Amurtigress

      GA-X79-UD5 BIOS F13z mod

      Modified with :

Intel Legacy RAID for SATA 11.6.0.1702 to 12.7.0.1936
Intel UEFI SataDriver 11.6.0.1702 to 12.7.0.1936
Intel RSTe RAID SataDriver 3.7.0.1049 to 3.8.0.1029
Intel RSTe EFI SataDriver 3.7.0.1049 to 3.8.0.1029
      Marvell 88SE91xx Adapter 1.0.1.0025
Intel Boot Agent GE 1.3.95 to 1.5.43
      Intel GigabitLanX64 to 5.9.07
      CPU Microcode Pack
      ME firmware 8.1.51.1471
      Modified splash logo 2

I still ask myself why GB put ME FW 8.1.51.1471 only in X79-UD5 and not in G1assassin2 ?

You could also try removew the video card, then boot, see if if you get the long beep and short beeps.
removing the power cables from the video card and powering on actually resulted in a halt instead of a boot. that's progress AFAIC. at that point i tried the various methods i have heard described to make it boot to backup bios, but i'm not sure it actually did so, i'm gonna have another go at it in a moment. no speaker so i'm not able to hear the post codes unfortunately.

funny, it used to always boot the backup BIOS at the barest hint of a problem in the OS. i remember how pissed i was about having to manually enter all my O.C. settings whenever that would happen. and from some chicken scratch in pencil no less! then i wised up, and learned a thing or two about those function keys.

          3. put a jumper block on the CLR_CMOS pins
          4. leave your system in this state for 12 - 24 hours

If you motherboard is bricked and won't post, create a new thread where I can help you with the Gigabyte motherboard unbrick technique. The procedure must be done very carefully in order to avoid physically destroying your motherboard.
whoa that sounds exciting. let's do it! i'll see you momentarily over inTech Support from Vendors GIGABYTE I presume.i was seriously considering attempting to take the second bios chip off and sauder it to the main bios, but i know that would only result in a very screwed pooch, and i have a tendency to get solder everywhere. Prof, at this point the system sat over night with CMOS jumpered, battery out, and i've only just returned to it a little while ago. not quite a full 24, but more than 12. i'm going to enthusiastically take you up on your offer regarding the aforementioned procedure. i've already generated an RMA, just in case. i feel like this board is priceless, i might even give it a kidney if it needed one. Headed over to the appropriate forum now, thanks!

you can stop reading here if you like since the rest doesn't necessarily pertain to this issue exactly, but i just wanted to say, having been a long time lurker on these forums (i think i learned how to O.C. lurking here), i really appreciate how many helpful and active participants have taken their time to help me out, that is very cool! thanks a lot!

Did I miss the post where you "introduced" F16 mod8 for our motherboards or did it sneak under the radar?

EDIT: Am i right in saying it's just a new custom graphic?

Yes you got it (your radar is ok). I thought not need a new post for that.

Edit : Same new splash logo in Z77X-UD3H F20c mod5.

                      Hi,
You need a new BIOS, F12v/w officially support Ivy-E (F12w or F12w modded).

I had a look on it but honestly I'm too scared to make a mistake, I always start to learn on my rig and I have not habit with AMD, you should rather ask on the Fernando's forum, perhaps there you will cross SummoneR who is an expert in mod BIOS with CBROM for AMD.

                            Regards.
It is really useful to complete and keep your PC Specs or Signature up to date in Settings /My Profile (motherboard, CPU, BIOS version modified or not ...) - Thank you all .

Hello VirtualFred, i've flashed this new beta F11b and i've quickly rolled back to your F11a mod3 because with my configuration this F11b does not improve the OC lowering VCore or voltages applied, indeed he becomes noticeably worse as they (VCore+VTT) must be increased a lot to re-gain stability.

Thanks for your valuable and appreciated work.

                              Cheers,

                              KK

                                Just tried the GA-EP35-DS3R BIOS F5b mod3
When I select RAID or AHCI mode in BIOS, the RAID bios detects the drives, but I cant seem to boot from anyone, they dont show up in the BIOS as bootable drives. I dont have my drives in RAID but use it for AHCI.
Also I cant seem to enter the RAID BIOS config by pressing CTRL+I ?
When i flashed the BIOS I selected not to keep DMI data, and after reboot, loaded optimized defaults, rebooted, selected RAID in BIOS, and rebooted again.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?
