  • Re: GIGABYTE Modified Bios

Someone know if rev2 BIOS can be apply to rev1 ??? (GA-Z68P-DS3 (rev2.x) BIOS UA6 mod)
Rev 2.x and Rev 1.0 use different BIOS:
    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z68P-DS3 (rev. 1.0)
    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z68P-DS3 (rev. 2.0)
I am in NO way affiliated with Gigabyte.
If you use a BIOS I Modified, you do so at your own Risk and Assume Full Responsibilty !

Hello Virtualfred, i'll ask you a BIOS Mod on behalf of a friend of mine for whom i've assembled this morning a PC with a Z77X-UP4 TH.
Considering the fact that my friend doesn't want to use Beta BIOSes but appreciate the Modded with latest ROMs, could you be so kind to mod the latest official F9 (http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList...-up4-th_f9.exe) with latest ROMs, CPU micro-code pack and all the goodies but with the Modified Splash Logo 1 (don't blame me, he saw the rev 2 on my UP4 TH and the rev 1 on my UP5 TH and he liked a lot this latest one ).
I'll get the chance of this message to ask you a little question: why for Z77X-UP4 TH there is the "Marvell 88SE91xx SATA RAID 1.0.0.0027 to 1.0.1.0025" when there isn't this controller on-board? Am i right or i've missed something on the street?
Thanks in advance for your work form Frank (my friend) and me.
      Cheers,
      KK

        GA-P965-DS4 BIOS F13b mod
with Intel RAID OROM 10.1.0.1008 (lastest official for ICH8R), 11.2.0.1527, 11.6.0.1702 and the lastest 12.7.0.1936 (original BIOS with RAID OROM 6.0.0.1022).

You'll have to be brave, because for better perfs you must delete and rebuild your RAID array with each new ROM... and perhaps try many RAID drivers to find the best for you !
(you surely know Fernando is THE specialist, some useful links : RAID drivers and modded drivers)

You want it... you got it ! Waiting for your feedback and score .
YOU ARE THE BEST :D i try them tomorrow...thanks man:D

Intel RAID SATA 7.5.0.1017 to 11.2.0.1527 (it should be the best ROM for old southbridge)
Jmicron SATA RAID 1.06.59 to 1.07.28
          Realtek LAN 2.09 to 2.58

Tried it but it also doesn't work. What is different from the vanilla F4 Bios is that this modded one never loads Intel Matrix Storage Manager ROM during post, and thats what I think is wrong.
Also, i tried to flash the unmodded F5b bios, but Q-flash gives me an error, something like bios signature failed.

Anyways, thanks for the help but I think I will stick with the F4 bios for now!

OK thanks for your feedback, it's a big jump for this old chips, perhaps you need an older RAID ROM as 10.1.0.1008 or previous 8.9****.

Put in your windows installation and system restore. The bios should still see your drives, and your booting from the disk not your OS. Of course if your irst-e than you need to load a driver.
A WHOLE LOT OF NOTHING WORKS PROPERLY

My boot bug is back again. No idea why this happens. Turn PC on boots straight into bios every time. Cleared cmos again and powered down / off with cable out for an hour. Reset defaults - raid - uefi - fast boot - XMP Profile 1 - Enhanced Memory performance - secure boot standard. PC runs great but if i turn it off for a very short while then turn on again its straight into bios again. I have even flashed it again twice through @bios prior to above reset. Nothing seems broken , and all runs fine - just damn annoying first boot.
                                Other settings:
                                Gen 3 option checked.
                                K-OC Disabled
                                Windows 8 checked.
FYI I have also tried standard settings on memory and auto settings instead of gen 3, normal boot etc. Still does it.
Tempted to do another clean install of windows.
