SB, IB, and now Haswell....you'd think I'd get a decent clocker after a while. I can't even walk in a store and pick one, not that it would make any difference.
Maybe when I see a guide I can squeeze something out.......

Well I can tell you this, if you can order from the New Jersey MicroCenter, the guy just open a fresh carton of 4770k's all were the same back as mine. Also it was a hope and a pray that they had a good batch number, as the drive to MC for me was 2 1/2 hr drive one way. Stopped at a friends house on the way but still I left my house at 3:30pm and didnt get home till 11ish. Not something I would often.

Yes! Now where did I leave my chump change at.......! lol, I guess I'll stick with what I got, Ace. Retirement don't pay me a whole lot.
Question about your delidding, though....did you cover the surface mounted components next to the die with anything? I know some were worried about getting the liquid TIM on them they might short.

ive seen another user cover the transistors with a thin cut down strip of electrical tape just to protect them from the liquid pro should any spill or run and no issues
I'll probably delid mine next week. trying to figure out if it's worth trying to cover up those components next to the die or not. I wouldn't think the liquid pro would splash all over but I never took my 3770K apart after I delidded it so I don't know for sure.

No I did not put anything on the pcb. I did use Liquid pro on the cores. This time around I did put phobya HeGrease on the vrn or what they are next to the cores. I seen someone else do that. Next step is to use liquid pro on waterblock or indego extreme.

Sounds good. When I delid I'll probably use some of whatever leftover TIM I have on the exposed chips. MX2/TX2/MX4/something, I'm sure I've got at least those laying around.
