Re: Haswell Overclocking Guides / Results

Do the OC boards have the saved memory profiles for some of the new high speed ram? I glanced at it on my UD5H but haven't really looked it over. Haven't done any overclocking, still working on installing programs and some wiring since I moved my drives around.

Thanks for posting up Ace. Hopefully I'll get to the overclocking sometime soon.

Re: Haswell Overclocking Guides / Results

There are some memory profiles on the OC board but none for Samsung ram. Very disappointed no love for samsung ram, how long did we fight with GB to get samsung ram to boot pass 1866 or 2133.

So it looks like Ringbus voltage helps with blck. If someone has any info on max safe voltages that would be great info. I have not looked up the white sheet of the cpu.

Re: Haswell Overclocking Guides / Results

So I've been playing more and have noticed something odd:

Core 4 is nearly 10 degrees C lower than the others at full load?! I've set each core manually in the BIOS and still the same result.

Does this mean my TIM application is off or is it possibly the TIM under the heatspreader is wonky?

        Thoughts?

I dont know.... What ever seems stable once is not stable again. Unless I need to go back to win8 to use latest version of linpack library. Unless someone else can comment on z87 win7x64 and linx with latest linpack library.

When you guys getting your systems up, lets go, get moving

Re: Haswell Overclocking Guides / Results

You can go higher with samsung, if your tRCD and tRP is CAS+2 (11-13-13).

                  Edit:
Haswell needs much looser timings (second and a key is third timings) on some kits over IB.

Re: Haswell Overclocking Guides / Results

Here is some piddling around I did today. First I set the vcore for 1.25, and the clock for x45. It booted but crashed Prime 95 quickly. I upped the vcore to 1.26 but it got hot quick and crashed, I did not catch the temp but I had the motherboard alarm set at 80.
So I dropped the vcore to 1.25 and the clock to x44 and uncore to 44 and ran Prime 95 for a short time. You can see the actual vcore was 1.260.
Don't know really how to OC these things but hopefully will learn before too long.

                      Will post here,once is online.

                      Edit:
Just note that GB use different approach (with FIVR) then Asus (AsRock) to OC K-series Haswell,
so DO NOT copy they settings.....
                      Btw,
already reported death CPU or board on MVIE.......

looks good Boon. Yeah I am still learning how to overclock these new cpu's. Hopefully sin and dino will finish up their OC guide since OC is different on Gigabyte boards. I am going to MicroCenter today to see if I can find a better batch cpu. Boon what batch is your cpu. From what I have seen L310 and L312 have been good just not L311 and I have a L311.

Edit - On z87x-OC board it seems uncore does not change with uncore multi, but if left at 34x seams to be auto as in windows uncore shows up as 4ghz at 40x. I just flashed to F5m last night but have not had a chance to play with it.

With my board/bios/cpu at 4.5ghz cpu and uncore left at 34x in windows I see a 40x uncore with GTL2.0 and 4.0ghz uncore on memory tab in cpuz. That is also with running ram at 2200mhz.
