Hi, this uncompatibility is whit all modified bios or only whit the new F16? And the problem is only in raid mod?

I went from F14 to F16mod (trying to fix a problem with the NIC while copying large files, it craps out).

Now, I've downgraded from F16mod to F16, and the Smart Response IS NOT working. I can't enable it, there is no option on the RST menu, it's greyed out on the ROM. I've destroyed the SSD cache, I'm starting over, but I can't configure it again.

I'm really REALLY tired. This is my last gigabyte mobo, that's for sure...

Smart response are working only in RAID mod? in AHCI he cant work? And you are in RAID mod in bios, right ?

RAID mode, iRST in BIOS.

Every new BIOS is a new problem, and the old ones are still there.

Idle lock ups
Idle lock ups with NIC issues. Hanging my ENTIRE network while the X79 rig is frozen, I can't even ping my gateway... FROM ANOTHER MACHINE. And I have 2 ESXi servers, a FreeNAS box, a vSphere vCenter Server, another "client" (X6 1055T), I CAN'T have my entire network failing because of this board...
After F12: problems with Dual Monitor setup. Screen flickers, and sometimes one monitor goes out of range. Wasn't happening before.
NIC problems. If I copy a large enough file (20GB), the NIC craps out. "Cable unpluged".
Boot loops. Don't make too many changes while overclocking. Even "known good" configurations WILL fail.
More idle lock ups, on a machine that is LinX stable for hours. It only freezes while I'm NOT using the PC.
With F14: shut down issues. Once every 2 shutdowns, I get a BSoD, and the machine restarts without NIC. Then I can shut it down. Wasn't happening with F12, it's not happening with F16.

And now... SSD cache is broken. And I'm not the only one with this issues.

This is my high-end rig, for christs sake....

When you reset CMOS and load optimize defaults which problems remain?

Is your BCLK strap at 1 and BCLK at 100, or 105/1.0 105/ 125 ?

I had some similar problems that I later resolved involving OC and the NIC. What's your combination?

BTW you posted in the modified BIOS thread, I would run the stock BIOS until you get some of your issues resolved, less variables for troubleshooting. I can't discuss too much off topic in here but let us know what your BCLK and strap settings are or start a thread besides this one.

Right now I'm at stock speeds. I'm not overclocking until I have the SSD cache working, 'cause if I need another BIOS I'll lose all my settings again. And there is a new (nonworking)BIOS every month, so, it's quite time consuming.

I've posted here because I was using the F16mod, and another user had the same problem with the RAID configuration with his X79UP4 (I have UD3). Now I'm back with F16, and still have this problem, I can't accelerate my hard drive...

Edit: I used to have 100Mhz with 1.25 strap. So 125Mhz only at the CPU.

I tried to use fastboot in Z77X UD3H with morpheus67 F20b modded bios but i noticed that in bios it doesn't read cpu/memory values correctly, in fact it doesn't read cpu values at all except core clock, also it shows wrong vcore value.
I am using UEFI with CSM disabled, everything works fine, so is it a bug with fastboot in f20b bios or what ?

When fastboot is disabled everything is normal again.

I try a raid with 2 Segate 3TB, but it will only be displayed 746MB.
I tested the Bios from Gigabyte F12c but no Intel change.

@Acebmxer Can you make a mod for the P55A-UD6 bios with latest rom (intel raid stoarge 12.x.x)?

I tried to use fastboot in Z77X UD3H with morpheus67 F20b modded bios but i noticed that in bios it doesn't read cpu/memory values correctly, in fact it doesn't read cpu values at all except core clock, also it shows wrong vcore value.
I am using UEFI with CSM disabled, everything works fine, so is it a bug with fastboot in f20b bios or what ?

When fastboot is disabled everything is normal again.

What you are seeing is kind of the point of Fast Boot... it disables certain things to boot faster, including the detection of those values.
