Guys......a small update in modded BIOS you can do yourself with latest UEFI BIOS Updater v1.61 . How to do: [Tool] "UEFI BIOS Updater" (UBU) Thanks to SoniX & Fernando.

I recently bought a Z87X-OC and plan to purchase a 4690K. Currently I do not have a CPU for socket 1150, so I cannot update the BIOS. Maybe, it is still at F7.. Could Devil's Canyon work with this board and BIOS?
Or do I have to buy another CPU, just to install an OS and update the BIOS etcetera..?

Has anyone tested if DC also works with F7? At least good enough to update the BIOS?
Wish we could update the BIOS without needing a CPU..

Found BIOS X08 (which is released before F7) works well with DC:
4790K & 4690K "Devil's Canyon" Overclocking Thread

But how you know that will come with BIOS F7?
Btw,
any computer shop will update BIOS for you.

Ah, nice to see that it works, thank you!
I am not sure if it even is F7, might even be F6 as well.
I will just buy the 4690K and test it.
If it goes wrong I can go to a computershop indeed.

Hi, sorry if I haven't gone through all the pages here but my question is simple... will the new i7-4790K work with a Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5 board? I updated to the latest BIOS (F9) and know the 4790 is compatible, but no mention of the K. So, can I use the K with this board?
