    Thanks much.
However: the Intel RST v. 12.5.0.1066 UI keeps failing to install correctly.
The log file shows "Overall return code is 1603".
The driver itself can be installed manually, but the UI installation keeps failing.
Any ideas, other than a fresh install of Windows 8 64-bit (bios is set to AHCI mode)?
    Thanks in advance.

Thankyou very much for the g1assassin2 f12r bios, Just few questions though, does my bios contain the lan rom even though theres no hardware for it?, plus, I thought I was efi/uefi, will uefi still work with legacy raid roms, im so confused now since trying it myself. I used the efi versions of the rom and is working ok, but as I said, I couldn't get irst-e change even though I replaced the module. I am very greatfull for your work, and taking time out to do this for me, please don't think otherwise. If someone could explain about legact versions and efi versions please, does the legay versions just mean I can change between legacy and efi?, as there is an option in the bios for this.

Question: is there an upgradable firmware for the VIA USB 3.0 controller that's found on the Z77X-UD5H?
The front USB 3.0 ports on my machine have problems reading a "Team" brand of USB 3.0 thumb drive, when using Windows 8 64-bit drivers.
Switch to a USB 2.0 port, and it reads fine again. Windows XP drivers (dual-boot system) also have no problem (reading from the same USB 3.0 port).

Well i tried buddy but still no go..
I can flash easily back to 11.6 orom and the 12.xx orom but this 12.5 orom will not take for me. It just does not see the raid system at all and keeps asking to select a proper boot system.
I have been in / out bios several times making sure correct boot seq is correct but when 12.5 flashed its not there.
had enough now for today i think i have flashed at least x15 times today with a clean install too.

                              FYI Feedback:
x79 Gigabyte G1 Assassin 12.5 drivers and 12.5 Orom Trim not working with both Winhex and the trim tool .
I shall also try the 12xx drivers now.

Ok i can also confirm with x79 after putting back the 12.0.0.1083 drivers TRIM Now works.
So its looking like a driver switch problem and not the Orom.

I have posted this on fernandos site because it also looks like same is happening with the 77 series mobos.
