            Hi,

I just flashed the F5a from BIOS flasher and everything so far works OK...only 125MHz strap sent it into endless loop, but this is as expected as I never got this mobo to post with that strap anyway.
Also worth noting is that even with previous release of your mod I had no issues at all, once I flashed with BIOS utility.
However, may we know what kind of tweaks you implemented?
            Thanx!!

              Thanks for testing,
You talk about strap so i suppose you could overclock CPU and RAM with each F5a mod and mod2 ? Did you check ME access with MEinfoWin/MEinfoWin64 from ME firmware tools ?

I hope to soon be able to tell the full story if i find a fairly stable process... for the moment it would be a little too confusing and annoying...

Here i am with ME firmware, but maybe i do a lot of mistakes : in ME tools package there are many tools as Flash Image Tool and ME firmware "production" and "preproduction" binary, these files can't replace "as it" ME region in BIOS (that is my first failure putting ME FW in BIOS) cause i think ME FW.bin must be "prepared" to match the target platform.
Unlike other ME FW 8.*.**.**** and 9.*.**.***, i think ME FW 8.1.50.1456 provided by Morpheus67 is not an original "production" or "preproduction" file from Intel, but an already prepared file for Z77 extracted from a BIOS file... so this file can be simply inserted in BIOS as Amurtigress do it with GBe firmware.
With X79 and Z87, I suppose that ME FW must be adapted before being inserted in BIOS to match with these different platform... so now, with FIT, i'm comparing ME region chipset's settings from original GB BIOS and apply these to the new ME FW to match with the final MB... some settings are just about read/write permissions, while other affect frequencies...

Virtualfred, I have had successful MEI even with first one, let's call it Mod1...but, the issues I experience were flashing from within Windows by using @BIOS 2.33...for some reason, obviously BIOS haven't been flashed correctly...so I had reflashed it again from within BIOS using Qflash or whatever it is the utility. Ever since I reset BIOS by removing bat and shorting pins on mobo, everything went smooth afterward.
The standard issue I have is inability to increase strap for OC my CPU. No matter what I do, I always end up in endless loop of reposting...which to stop you have to remove bat again, which is pain in the...rite...
I used 6 different RAM modules 2 different CPU's, 4 different PSU, still no hope. NO matter what I do. I even underclock the CPU to about 3GHz, RAM to 1066...nope, no avail.
Here's the cmd prompt screen shot...

would this affect the g1assassin2?, as the GBE region is always unknown, I don't think it counts for our board, what do you think?.

Gbe is located in a separate region than ME. I think Gbe region is only for Intel LAN chip, not for other (Atheros, Realtek...) that why MEinfo said ME region is unknown in Z77X-UD3H's BIOS (only Atheros LAN chip) while it shows Gbe version in Z77X-UD5H's BIOS (both Atheros and Intel LAN chip). Previous BIOS for G1.Assassin2 (F12r and F12s) doesn't contain GBe region... and Gigabyte add it in F12t , i don't understand, maybe they made a mistake.

Thanks man, not just for that, but for all that you do for us. I will be starting on a new rig soon, and I can honestly say that I'll consider going with a gigabyte board if you're still posting your BIOS modifications. Asus has some pretty good BIOS development and nice boards, but here at gigabyte we have a virtualfred!

It wouldn't surprise me if your name appears in some reviews on newegg, because you're definitely a positive "pro" to go against some of the "cons" that these boards have.

                              Same things :/

-I' have already a lot of vdroop if i fix vcore normaly. (exemple : 1.32 Vcore = 1.28 full load)

-Edit : no vdroop with offset mode

-Vcore load calibration seem not working (vdroop with all setting)

                              -Enter bios at startup :/

Trying the new bios beta (12d) same things too

With 11Z mod 4. it work like a charm.

I don't want to disturb, but it's possible to mod the last beta bios of x79 ud7 ? (f12d)

                              Thanks in advance.
