Hmm, can you try shutting down and re-arranging your sticks to be sure they are fully installed and snug?

If that does not help the next thing I would be checking is for bent CPU tray pins, I have seen this to be the reported cause several times.

OMG it worked the pin was like 0.01% bent. I wasn't even sure what i'm doing. thank you very much Lsdmeasap.

        Great to hear!!!

Yes, those pins are very delicate! Nice to see you were able to fix it, please do be careful in the future when your CPU is out so you do not bend any again.

          Hi:

In November 2008, I built a new PC with a GA-EP45-DS3L board running XP.

I decided to upgrade to Vista and Office 2007. I downloaded the new drivers from the Gigabyte site and flashed the bios to F10.

After completion of the Vista install, windows reported an incompatibility with the chipset driver and recommended a new driver from the Intel site. This turned out to be an older driver that the one installed, so I did nothing, also it did not seem to be affecting anything.

I then loaded Office 2007 and on reboot cannot get to the logon screen, the machine just locks up.

I have reinstalled everything three times same problem results.

          Do you have a solution.

          Many thanks,

When you say reinstalled everything, what do you mean? The OS or office and your other programs?

Can you start in Safe mode? If so, I would suggest you do so and install the correct chipset drivers

This is the chipset driver you should be using Ver. 9.0.0.1008 >>>>

If you continue to have issues you may need to flash back to F9 and then report this issue with F10 to Gigabyte tech's.

Here is some info about flashing if you have not read up on it >>

And here is Tech support to report this issue, if it is indeed the F10 BIOS causing the issue please do report it (Give full specs, and OS Version 32/64, ect) >>>

              Hi,

              I recently bought a GA-EX58-EXTREME mobo.
I have problems with the onboard NICs.
After a cold start, they are both detected correctly by the OS (either Linux or Windows Vista).
However, after a restart things start to get random: sometimes only one NIC is recognized by the OS and sometimes neither of them. What I have to do is switch power off completely and wait for a couple of minutes before things get back to normal. The problem is NOT OS-related (when the problem occurs, in BIOS the Virtual Cable testing function does not work for the malfunctioning NICs).
As long as the computer stays on (even for days), the network cards function properly. I have 5 SATA HDDs and one SATA DVD, powered by a Corsair 750W power supply. My APC UPS application reports a load of less than 200W constantly.
I tried different versions of BIOS- F4 and F5x and all have the same problem.

What would your advice be for further troubleshooting this? Could this be a BIOS bug or a hardware problem?

              Thanks!

I have a brand new GA-EP45-UD3P mobo. The Realtek Ethernet adapter takes forever to connect to my DSL provider. I have several other computers in my house that connect almost immediately upon system boot after the WIN XP OS is loaded. When I use this board after everything is up and running and the LAN is still not connected for like another minute. This is not normal. I have a linksys router and thinking that might be the problem I connected the computer directly to the DSL modem and it still connected slow.

I went to Realteks website and downloaded the latest drivers for their onboard chip and it didn't help. I currently have one onboard LAN port disabled since I never use it. I thought this might be the issue with slow connections since it was floating.

                Any suggestions?

                  Mr. Yeh

Today, I built a new system with the EP45-UD3R MB, BIOS F5, 4GB Corsair memory, XP Pro SP3. I loaded the drivers from the Gigabyte CD, but I am having one vexing problem. I cannot wake from standby mode. I would like to use both the mouse and the keyboard to signal the system, but both the mouse and the keyboard do not have the 'Power Management' tab when examined in Device Manager. When I transition into standby mode, there is not anyway to wake up. Have I messed-up the BIOS settings? Any help would be appreciated.

                  Thanks,

@zetabater, I suggest you go into your bios by pressing DEL key when your system first turns on and starts displaying stuff on the screen.

Once in the bios look at the following virtual bios for your motherboard and modify the settings to match.

The "USB device wake-up from s3" should be enabled.

Also, if you have PS2 mouse/keyboard the power on by mouse and power on by keyboard will let you turn the machine on without having to press the power button on the front of the case.

                        Hi
I bought a GA-EP45T-UD3R motherboard and added in Corsair DDR3 2GB (2 x 1024MB) 1333MHz 2 x 240pin DIMMs - TWIN3X2048-1333C9. I decided to buy another set of the above memory which would take me to 4GB, when i add in the 2 extra modules my system stars beeping continiously and cannot get to the Post Screen.

I tested the memory modules and seem to work fine in slots 1 & 2, but soon as you add extra memory to slots 3 & 4 starts beeping.

Ok I am not sure if it applies to your memory but I read that for DDR2 1066 on a GA-EP45-UD3R if you populate the other 2 slots it will only run at 800. you have to slow it down. This was from gigabyte support.

                            hy_tek,
                            this is GA-EP45T-UD3R,which is DDR3

                            vin007,
I sugest you to open new thread. You will need to provide more information like CPU,
                            memory voltage,did you overclock,etc.
                            Btw,
you should run first pair in slots 1 & 3(or 2 & 4),to be in dual mode.
Also you will need to increase MCH Core and make adjustment for 4x1 GB.
Read same threads already posted here for your board.Be sure that you are stable with 2X1 GB memory.

Sometimes my computer just freezes randomly and I have to restart it manually.
What's the problem? If someone know this problem please let me know how to work it out thanks!
