My new UD5H & 4770K come in today.....are there any Costa Rican chips shipping yet? Curious to see what I get the second time around. I didn't really get a chance to push the other cpu much above 4.5.....but then I see some people having a problem getting 4.5 and I wonder if it's the cpu, boards, or not knowing what they are doing. I saw a post somewhere that the guy was disappointed he couldn't get 4.3 on 1.165v........... What is UP with the forum this morning? No graphics and the text is all jumbled up.

Looks like my new 4770K isn't too bad-at least on a 4.5 OC. I just set vcore 1.25 & uncore at 34. Ran some 8K & 12K ffts in Prime 95 2 rounds each no problems.

But I can't get my RAM to run at CR1. The SPD shows CR1 for 2133/2400 but I can't get it even if set manually.

This screenshot on the RAM test was before I set the OC to 4.5......

tried with system performance enhance on standard? rather than turbo?

Yep, wazza I tried all 3 settings. Normal, Enhanced, and whatever the 3rd one is, can't remember. (I don't think there is a Turbo now..at least not on F6n bios).

it won't boot at all if set to cmd rate 1? tried with looser timings?

could be bios bug idk,clearly they are rated at cmd rate 1 so should work

might be more tricky tho with 16gb @2400mhz

EDIT.

2400mhz should be 11-14-14-30-1t @1.65v

No, it boots just fine. It just won't do CR1.
BTW here's how they have the performance thing setup now...

try changing the 11-13-13-30-2t to 11-14-14-30-1t

or even 11-14-14-31-1t

all the normal/standard and turbo used to do is tighten up the secondary or third timings if I remember right

again it might be normal for 2t with 16gb,and 1t for 8gb

Well it's a 16GB kit so you would think it work fine at 1T. I'll do some tweaking later and see what I get...I want to check out something first.

wazza I got the RAM kit to do CR 1T. I had to set the RAM to "Normal", in other words don't click the Profiles at all, then manually set the first group of timings and the CR.
It made the latency a little better than the Profile settings.

Is RAM overclocking available on non Z87 chipsets? http://media.bestofmicro.com/z87-exp...-390399-22.png
B85/H87 is limited to 1600 according to mobo`s info.

H87 + i5-4570 is it possible to use more than 1600Mhz? Or B85/H87 should be used only with 4770k and 4670K?

Ace, can you run Prime 95 AVX 12K FFT's?
With this cpu & 4.5 OC I'm up to 1.26 vcore and still can't pass 12K fft's.

EDIT: finally passed 12K FFT's by adding some Vring.

I tried with my current 4.7ghz overclock and it crashed the system after 15 min.

Do you have a link or any info as for which test or FFT stress which component, to know which voltage to change?

mmm not really. What I did was bump vring from auto to 1.15 and that finally passed 12K.
For whatever reason I've found 12k fft's the hardest to pass....followed by probably 8k fft.

For pretty much anything I think it can pass with 1.22 vcore for 4.5 OC except those pesky 12k fft's.
