So I upped the cpu to 4.4GHz, but it still got too hot and I had to cut Linpack short. So I dropped the cpu speed to 4.2GHz and reduced some Voltages. Linpack still got too hot, but I was able to grab one rep before I killed it:

Linpack does not have a GUI. LinX and IBT and OCCT provide GUI's for Linpack.

I cannot get my LinX to work with Linpack 11 more than one rep, even at default speed. Hence my using the script.

I modified the data input file to this:

            Code:
Sample Intel(R) Optimized LINPACK Benchmark data file (lininput_xeon64)
            Intel(R) Optimized LINPACK Benchmark data
            1 # number of tests
            25000 # problem sizes
            25000 # leading dimensions
            20 # times to run a test
4 # alignment values (in KBytes)
Note that the name of the file is lininput_xeon64. You may wish to copy and rename the original as lininput_xeon64_old or some such. Also, I had to disable HT. Finally, do nursemaid the initial runs with something like Real Temp. It doesn't take long (50 seconds per rep at 4.2GHz) but the system gets really hot really quickly -- hotter than with Linpack 10.

I could try again since I need to retest settings for new bios came out. A lot has changed since the first "i" series cpus (socket 1366).
After more testing, seems disabling HT still helps but not until higher clocks. When I first tested I tested at 4.5ghz, at 4.8ghz with HT on cpu is unstable at 1.4v with linx. Disable HT and CPU is stable might be able to drop volts. Gonna see how far I can push with HT disabled. I think my cpu at 4.9ghz and HT enabled I need around 1.49v.

ummm yes cpu has been delidded long time now.

Seems my cpus like 4.7ghz with HT. anything higher takes to much voltage for my liking. Cpu will not boot to windows at 50x with ht disabled at 1.525v when it needs 1.330v for 4.7ghz w/HT linx stable.

So yes Disabling HT will help some but these cpus all act differently. Mine disabling ht does not help until higher clocks, but voltage does not scale well with cpu speed after 4.7ghz.

Long time, huh? lol. I got a delidded 3770K I'll sell you, I guarantee it'll go higher than 4.7.
I didn't get a chance to try 4.7 on my 4770K, have to wait until the next one I guess.

Wow. How high can you go while the cpu is overclocked?

I'm getting ready to buy some new RAM and I'm wondering if 2400 is OK with a 4.5 overclock. If not I'll just stick with the 1866 Predator, I had zero problems with it.
Actually I forgot I still got two sticks of 2400 TridentX I haven't tried yet...

I think all new RAM's (for Haswell) is OK.
I saw so many posting with 3th generation (IB) no problem 2800-2933 and older 2400-2666+.

                                Btw,
I have new Intel MicroCode Rev.09 ID: 0x326C309 Date: 04/04/2013.......will post soon.
                                GB still using 07.
