Yes normal values are exactly that normal or what is stock voltage for stock clocks.

leave pll set to auto. to lower temps at idle you can try using dvid which will lower vcore at idle and then raise vcore at load.

So I did a bit more testing, and despite being somewhat unlucky with my CPU I really like IB so far.
I couldn't get anything above x40 to work properly (x41 still booted, 42 was freezing the bios after a second or two) so I started to tweak down the voltage.
I could boot into windows at 1.000V but Prime95 would apparently crash after some time (I woke up in the middle of the night and it was just gone; PC was still running though), so I was upping vcore a bit few times. Currently testing 1.015V, hopefully I won't have to go higher.

I wonder what kind of miracle piece did this guy have. 4.4GHz on default voltage and stock speed at 0.9V!

There's a lot of variability in IB cpu's, just as there is in SB cpu's. Some are good over/under clockers with low volts, most aren't. Neither one of my 3770K cpu's are particularly good as far a low vcore, although x44 OC is pretty easy on stock volts with the UD5H on at least one of my rigs, if I remember correctly. I keep both rigs around x45 now. Prime 95 max vcore is between 1.26-1.272, others can go lower, some higher. Pretty much luck of the draw cpu wise.
Of course temperatures scale with voltages MOL, and the lowest stable vcore will give the lowest temps.

Guess I just have to experiment more.

Btw anyone ever had problems with F_USB30 double port? I connected a 3.5" bay with two USB 3.0 connectors to it an only one works. I hope my board is not faulty because RMA would take a month. I'm left with one functional port either way :/

Just got a new 3770k cpu in today and is installed. This chip is a Malay chip vs old chip was a costa rica chip. I believe the costa rica chips are better overclockers and temp then the malay chips. I will post of benchmarks when i have some.

No... I tried the clear nail polish but still nothing. I almost thought I was lucky but it tricked me.

So far this cpu is not to bad. 4.5ghz htt need a little more vcore then old cpu but temp is ok. Gonna work my way to 4.8 and see how it likes that. The IMC seems ok too.

I have one from Malay and one from Costa Rica and I can't tell any difference between the two, voltage wise. Haven't really pushed the new one yet.
I just got my new system fired up again after doing some mods and all of a sudden I got the dreaded USB port message. Not one single thing changed in the BIOS or drivers, either. I got rid of that on my other board a long time ago but looks like I'll have to work on this one. Weird thing is there's not a darn thing plugged into any USB 3.0 ports.

@boon, I posted it in the why Ivy bridge is so hot.... I took the IHS off my cpu trying to replace the TIM that intel used, but doing so I put a couple nicks in the green pcb board of the cpu which apparently hit the IMC. I tried using nail polish to see if it was shorting out on the IHS.

Old cpu needed 1.29v @ 4.8ghz ht off, new cpu needs 1.29v @ 4.7ghz. I tried to push 4.8ghz but it was not liking it. I still need some time to play with it, but I am missing the first cpu.

                            • All The Credit for this goes to a board member here that took me under his wing every step of the way. I will not post his name to prevent a flood of requests but want everyone to know this is not from my personal experience.
It did not happen over night, lots experimentation and running IBT and Prime95.

This is on my RMA returned UD5H that is running like a fine tuned watch.

                              • Commenting on the UD5H WiFi Card

This card is very fast compared to my HP laptop N-Draft Intel adapter and a Rosewill USB N-Draft adapter.

To test the adapters connection to my Router I take my laptop to the other end of the house and it usually degrades but gives me an idea of which adapter does better. My laptop OE Intel adapter does not do as well as a cheap-o Rosewill USB adapter.

I am using the UD5H's WiFi card in a different system on a GA45-EP45-UD3P/Q6600 machine I have and took it back there and mercy! It only lost 1 bar on the tray meter and the properties screen but still shows 300Mbps. I ran a speed test from N. Georgia to Tampa FL and its a very strong 23.98 down and a 3.43 up on Comcast. I get 25.15/3.71 at the computer connected to the Modem.

Very nice. We are talking 50 feet away through several walls including closets. I had read a comment in a review someplace, maybe Newegg indicating good performance on this card.
