Guys sorry for the Noob question but what exactly is the Process when Flashing with a Modified bios? Flash with Qflash, Load Optimized Defaults then load back Custom settings ? I could have sworn i saw a Post about shutting down etc but can find it or maybe i haven't looked enough ........Bless
I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-EP45 Extreme motherboard with the hope of learning about overclocking (using a Xeon X5470 as well as Pentium 4 670 or 672). I will be installing the F9E bios to obtain compatibility with the Xeon 5470 CPU.
I was initially going to purchase the GA-EP45-UD3LR and assumed that the UD3LR as well as Extreme boards offered the same list of compatible CPU's. I was wrong. The UD3LR offers compatibility with the older single-core Pentium processors since Bios revision F2. The Extreme board never had a bios update to support these older processors. The board architecture looks the same except for Realtek ALC889 audio in the Extreme vs ALC888 in the UD3LR
Can the microcode for the Pentium 4 670 and Pentium 4 672 be added to Bios F9E? (I really don't need the microcodes for the extensive list of older processors.) This is my first post here and hope that someone can help.
I've G1.Sniper H6 and Intel i5 4590, I would like to lock all cores at max turbo speed (4 x 3,7 GHz), if possible at stock voltages.
Can you please mod the latest bios with updated Oroms with that future?

I don't really know how to do that, I'll try to search it on google.
(1) The PC has to be off.
(2) Press and hold down the power button. Don't let go.
(3) The PC will turn on. A few seconds later, the PC will turn off again by itself.
(4) Let go of the power button at this point.

Next start, the backup BIOS will take over.
Next start = black screen, the back-up BIOS didn't take over. Nothing changed.
I found other method: connecting 4-7 pins on the m-bios chip. I'll try it later.
