Also, an unrelated question, do you know if it is possible to add NVMe support to the x79-ud3 by means of a modified UEFI/firmware?

      I'm interested as well.

I found the answer to this question myself I think. It appears that any bios modded with RST firmware v13.1 or above and matching UEFI RST v13.1 drivers should have support for NVMe devices.

Now I just need to find a nice affordable NVMe drive.

          Interesting!
So hopefully a modded BIOS with updated option rom is all we will need.

Nice work. Thanks for letting us know.

I make my own modded bios to fix crashing and freezing on games. I think the old ME Firmware was the problem.

This F23 is the final and is not publish on the support website on this time.
This modded F23 fixes follow bugs from F23b:
Fixed: Sometimes the computer start automatic - 1 or 2 times per month
Fixed: Hanging, Crashing, Freezing on lot of gigh end games - BF4 or Killing Floor but happens on low games sometimes too.
Fixed: Sometimes hanging machine when shut down - 1 or 2 times per month

Regarding "...Fixed: Hanging, Crashing, Freezing on lot of gigh end games - BF4 or Killing Floor but happens on low games sometimes too....":
Could you maybe tell me which part of modded BIOS caused this issue or can you maybe provide were you got this information from?
Are there any information sources by INTEL regarding 'fixed issues/change log' of
                - Intel Legacy RAID for SATA
                - Intel UEFI RAID SataDriver
                - ME Firmware
                - Intel PCI Accelerated SVGA BIOS

                @all other GA-Z77-D3H owners:
Following links have been very helpful for me in addition to the 'modified components info' provided by Waly:
Which are the "best" Intel AHCI/RAID drivers?
