I obtained a 1.18Mb file.BIN (extracted with FPT tool) instead of 1.48Mb... not enough time for it now...

Latest MEI firmware & driver on Z77X-UD5H (version 1.0 with blue capacitors) board:

                Why:
Gbe version 1.3 instead of 1.5?
                UNS version: Not Available?

Edit: Gbe version successfully updated using guide here:

                  Hi Mseirco,

HPETis High precision Event Timer, my technical language is too bad for clearly explain that to you so you find your answer here :

High Precision Event Timer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't know you Pc's specifications, but the F16 work like a charm for me, don't forget to flash it with the new gigabyte @Bios GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 2011 - GA-X79-UD3 (rev. 1.x)

After reading hpet, you decide yourself if you want to keep it and then activate it in windows 7, if you don't like it you can revert back by using dos command bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock

                  Ghostearth.

I have an entry in my event log saying intel management engine interface is being disabled, is this normal for the newer software? or is it just not compatable with version 8 firmware? it used to work fine and I would get an event saying intel management as been reset, but since I started installing 9.5 versions, I no longer get any events except the one where it says disabled, that happens after installing the software. Is anyone else with a x79 board still getting reset events at startup?, if not then I think I may be right. I would like to try the newer firmware if you manage to get hold of it virtulafred.

Shouldn't your OS detect HPET then set the command itself, I have hpet on x79, always been enbled, never knew about setting it with bcdedit. Also, whats the hpet got to do with the clock? aren't you just forcing the OS to use the board clock?, please explain someone.

Hello, could you guys (virtualfred did the first one) update the GA-Z87-D3HP? They put back the final F5.

                          Thanks!

Why do morpheus67's mods include the updated MEI whereas virtualfred's don't?

Having only one mod with the original firmwares updated, as long as MEI and GBE would be cool.
