I have the GA-X79-UD3 and I am using the official F16 BIOS from the GIGABYTE Web site. I cannot overclock at all with this BIOS. Whenever I manually enter a different turbo multiplier, it defaults to 3.2 GHz on my 3930K. If I change the core multiplier, it makes no difference. Basically, it ignores any manually entered frequency changes. Anyone else have this issue? Has it been resolved in the newer BIOSes?
Some of the newer BIOS on the X79-UP4 board have a turboboost bug. If you set the main cpu freq to be the same as what you set turbo boost too with turbo boost enabled does it overclock and save your settings on reboot?
In other words set the regular multiplier to match the turbo boost multipliers on all turbo boost settings.

When I had my older BIOS (I think F8), the VID for 3.8 GHz was 1.241 volts as seen in the following screenshot (ignore the 782 MHz minimum clock speed because I am not sure why that happened and it hasn't happened again).
Now, with the latest BIOS, the VID for 3.8 GHz is 1.306 volts. That is a massive increase.
What would cause something like this? I thought the VID couldn't be changed.
By the way, I've also noticed that my temps are higher with the latest BIOS compared to my older BIOS that reported a lower VID.
Both of those pics where taken at the desktop.
Secondly, with the older BIOS, the stock VCore detected in the BIOS was 1.2xx volts but with the new BIOS it is detected as 1.305 volts. What would cause this?
One more thing. With the older BIOS, the VID would never get close to 1.3xx volts even when stress testing.

You're welcome. Because all of the cores are reaching 38 and not 38 for 2, 37 for 3, and 36 for one. Look at the Max column in picture 1 compared to the Maximum column in picture 2.

But that was when it was idle. When under load, all cores would reach 3.8 GHz even with the old BIOS. By the way, how come with the old BIOS the stock VCore was detected as 1.2xx volts in the BIOS and with the latest F16 BIOS it is detected as 1.305 volts in the BIOS? I also noticed that your 3930K has a stock voltage of almost 1.300 volts in your thread on how to fix overclocking so I guess this is normal?
Does it have to anything with the LLC setting? Was it changed/altered in the newer BIOSes? My LLC reads as +60% and is set on Auto. I cannot change the +60% but I can change the Auto to Normal, Standard, etc.
Your not alone, same thing happens with g1assasin2, mine is only quadcore cpu, but vcore is still higher than before and turbo ratio cant be set, cant overclock past 43 multiplier either, im sure I could go 45 on older bios. bios f12w. LLC as always been +60.

Do you still have an i7-3820? That's just from my memory it might not be correct. But if that's true and you have a 3820 the multiplier has always been 43 max, that's why they call it partially unlocked if I recall correctly, the K series chips allow multiplier only OC to high frequencies.

My OS also reports a 5.60ghz overclock in control panel/system when its only 4.3ghz, 43 multiplier.

Turning off fast boot - sorry, disabling fast boot seems to have stopped the booting into bios when turning PC on ! Will continue to monitor.
Fingers crossed that we have finally found the culprit for our Board.

HA well its back again - after about 24 / 36 hours Everything seemed to be back to normal with normal boot into windows - BANG .. Its booting into bios again now. Changed absolutely nothing , Just started doing it itself.
Well in case anyone hasn't noticed, the SecureBoot bug on my GA-X79-UD3 has disappeared on latest beta. Provisioning default keys doesn't brick the bios anymore!

Showing 5.60 GHz in System Properties is a bug in latest BIOS. CPU-Z shows the right frequencies. Also i7-3820 allows no more than 43 multiplier for turbo boost. Tryed in any bios available and can not set more than 43.
