I am unable to load windows after updating to the f8 bios. It just freezes while starting windows then resets itself. Went back to f7 and everything works perfectly.
When I updated to F8 and the only changes i made in bios are loaded optimized defaults and changed the vertex 3 to ahci mode.

Windows won't boot if it was installed in IDE mode if you switch to AHCI in BIOS.
See this page Guide Change from IDE to AHCI after Installation for registry fix, or try to flash F8 and don't change to AHCI in Bios.

Its already set to ahci with f7 bios and works fine it just doesn't boot with f8.

BIOS F8 Dramatically decrease write performance of my SATA3 SSD (Vertex3 240GB), unstable read performance also. My board is the GA-Z68X-UD4-B3. I was searching for a cause and found the answer at the official Gigabyte forums. I am back to F7.
