No I didn't pm LSDMEASAP as I did read about others who also used this technique to recover the board and also how they electrocuted themselves, not keen on trying that method and would prefer to rma if i can....
do whatever you feel comfortable with,i just suggested that to save you time and hassle but if your dont feel competant enough then by all means rma

If the backup chip was flashed you would know it as it tells you when this is happening, and that only happens with certain BIOS updates so that Qflash can be updated. Or if you do it manually.
Electrocuted? I've never heard of ANYONE being electrocuted, if it were to happen I doubt it would harm you thought as I'm sure only a tiny amount of voltage is used in the BIOS chips.
If you want the info on how to fix this via shorting let me know and I'll send you a PM, it's easy and fixes it fast. You won't be electrocuted because you will use electric tape on whatever you use to short anyway, I've done it tons of times as have many members to save themselves from a RMA.
You have a 3 year warranty, and RMA takes 2 weeks sometimes 3, so if you do not want to attempt that it's fine and you can RMA no problem.
Can you boot at all? If you can boot, can you boot to DOS via a CD or bootable USB? If so you can easily fix this via flashing.
What brought the backup chip being updated into question here anyway?
Have you tried starting the machine with only one stick of memory? How about quickly flipping the power on/off while you try to power it on, sometimes doing this several times in a row will cause it to recover via backup.
What screen are you seeing when it stops before rebooting?
theres some confusion whether the second bios chip gets flashed the same time as the main bios if you flash with the newer bios's? and why hasnt the backup bios kicked in to recover things? you wont get electrocuted from 12v anyway and always isolate yourself beforehand by using gloves or plastic handled tools

Hello everybody ! I have to inform that official bios F11 and beta bios F12b for GA-P55A-UD6 has serious bug: It's impossible to wake up computer from sleep (ACPI mode S3) under windows 7 64 bit. Bios F10 working well. Regards.
Edit:
Sorry for BIOS GA-EP45-UD3P - F11b,(bootloop), still under investigation if did came from GB Taiwan or GB Germany(JZ and GBG are very silent ATM).
Gigabyte's release notes usually annoy me, but this one cracked me up. "Hey, we updated the BIOS logo, come get the latest BIOS and enjoy the new logo!" Gee, thanks Gigabyte!
