Does anyone know why ITE8718 KX support was removed from these BIOS'? I've been having trouble overclocking a GA-EP43-UD3L / E7400 past 3.6GHz. Only a slight risk but I try not to update a BIOS if not needed. Well worth it though if there is something to be gained.

I'm using GA-EP35C-DS3R (rev. 2.1).

What is the difference between F3 and F4a bios?

Should i install F4A beta bios?

Update: Seems the problem I am having is the hard drive going to sleep. I have to turn it off in order for the system to not lock up when windows goes into sleep mode. Anyone having this problem as well?

I had to go into the power settings and change Hard Disk > Turn off hard drive after and change it to never. I do not prefer this setting because the HD does not go into sleep mode but oh well. It works. If someone has a fix for this, I am open ears.

Everything is on vista default. The HD sleep mode is the only thing I have changed.

Actually I fibbed. F7c was sluggish in Wondows, F6f was fine.
By the way: Is there some program that extracts al the bios settings and puts it into a textfile?

Every time I change bios all my profiles are wiped and I'd like to be able to put them back more easily than from memory.

Actually I fibbed. F7c was sluggish in Wondows, F6f was wine.

I use the windows bios flash utility and simply deselect the load bios defaults option on the application. I don't know if this is the best option (due to possible changes in the new bios) but I havent had any problems as of yet.

I've been running the ex-58-ud5 F7c on my non-overclocked i7-920 + UD5 board for the last couple of days. I had some issues with games (Team fortress 2 - lots of hangs, more than the normal ones I get with this board) and the standard solution to this is to disabling hyper-threading. However doign this results in a perpetual bios reboot cycle. :|

A full power off (power cable removed) will not allow you to get back into the bios you have to use the clr bios button to be able to boot again.

Stasio, can you tell us whether AHCI BIOS will be updated for older boards like the great EP35-DS4 as well or not? Thank you.
