You are correct, sorry he normally does post for each Beta he adds. He must not have on that one, and I do not find a change log myself either, so that means Gigabyte did not send him or the other places I know of a change log.

They do not always send a change log along with beta updates.

f12 doesn't fix the problem. i've found that up to about 413 fsb the boards seem to be able to sleep but above that they fail regardless of settings.

Sounds like all settings to me then if it works up to 413 FSB. Normally if it was not going to be working it would fail at about 375+. So if you think you need some help make a new post and give me your specs, settings, and how you fail stability tests and I will advise

well right now i have it clocked at 3.914 (9 x 435) and its 12 prime blend stable. In fact, i can actually play command and conquer 3 whilst prime blending for hours without a problem. I don't think there are any stability issues.

Now you should know that when I first flashed to f12 i still couldn't s3 sleep if I increased the fsb by even 1 mhz. Then i talked with vista tech who gave me some vista tweaks to put into play. Those tweaks were what allowed me to suddenly be able oc up to 411 fsb at a 9x multiplier. (Thus why I strongly believe a lot of the issue is OS based and I'd love to see what would happen if I was running say linux or something)

When i did my testing i found that i could freely change the memory settings without affecting s3 sleep. Memory did not seem to be a factor. i also found that if i dropped the multipler down to 6x, i could go up to 443 and still s3 sleep without an issue. however anything above 443 wouldn't work.

I then found that I could increase the multiplier up to 8 x 443 and it'd still work, but 8.5 and 9 wouldn't work. Increases in voltage or voltage termination didn't help either, nor did manipulating board settings (ram timings, mch voltage, mch ref, etc). I really was pretty extensive in the gathering the parameters of what works and what doesn't.

With the 9x multiplier, 410 was the max it would be able to consistently s3 sleep. I didn't test 8.5. At 8x 443 was the max it would be able to consistently s3 sleep.

Also my tests seem to strongly imply that the ethernet ports/or windows recognition of them seem to have a lot to do with the failure as it appeared that when they were deactivated sleep seemed to happen with greater consistency than when they were active. But I couldn't postively conclude it as it was an observation towards the end of the testing.

Could you tell me anything more about the f13a bios? what it attempted to fix? if i should give it a go? I don't have a floppy so a bad flash or a crappy bios absolutely will stick with me and I'd rather not risk it unless its fairly stable.

Ahh, yes! I remember talking about that with you, on your posted info about what the MS Tech passed on to you about it.

Well, it may just be that you have found your boards limit on S3 w/ overclocking. S3 is a energy saving feature, something Manufacturers try to fix, but do not always get done due to the vast number os possible hardware combination and end user overclocks/settings used.

I'll check your thread you just made and see if I see anything obviously off, but you may have found you limit with your testing mentioned above. If you did need a higher FSB, you may need to try out that 8.5 multi or just not use S3

why did you go back to f9b, i was about to try this bios (since it has 1.20E ahci rom, like f9a did detects hdds alot faster then the old rom ), oh well i think ill stick with f9a i havent had any issues :)

Trying to flash the new F7c on my UD5 gives an "invalid BIOS image" message in QFlash, and a "flash is write protected" when trying to flash from DOS using flash895

any ideas?
