S3 still not working

Dear people from Gigabyte,

I belive that is about time to post a bios (for the UD5) that is able to have the S3 working! It has been far to many months now and it is kinda of ridiculous this situation. We all talking about saving energy and so but like this we can not have the computers on stanby. It is just not ok, you must put youself togheter and fix this problem for once.

I am sure appreciate all the work work that is been done until now but it is not possible to have this issue for so long. This is a expensive motherboard, it should work properly.

i confirmed that 6c for DS4 woulnt present my 0x000000F4 BSOD on first cold boot without overclock, so i tried to go back to 6b using Qflash, but after selecting the bios file, i see the "reading bios" thing, the bar fills up, and the message disapears and my pc stays there without responding untill i reboot it.

any ideas ?

Just a heads up:

Extract of message to Gigabyte tech support concerning A6 boot failure on X58 Extreme:


***RESOLVED****

Fixed no boot A6 post code with:

-Plug in PSU
-Keep finger on clr CMOS
-Switch on PSU
-Switch on comp
-Waited 30 seconds (whilst checking postcodes: no more A6 freeze)
-Power off.

I did this without a screen, so all I know is it immediately started cycling through usual postcodes (Mobo LCD) ...

Hi,

I have been using this config for months without problems. Then I restarted my computer this evening, and all i get now is a blank screen.

I have tried with each stick of ram in every slot, 2 gpus, 1 gpu, removing cmos battery for 3h, keeping reset cmos pressed for 10 minutes disconnecting everything from the mobo, etc...

So I just get post code "C1" for less than a second, then post code stays on "A6". No video, screen stays off. All motherboard lights stay on, as well as fans..

I hope there is a workaround for this problem. Otherwise, how would I have to go about RMA'ing the board from Canada?

Is there any info on bios updates to the GA-EX58-UD4P? Looks like it has been "stuck" on the F7e for quite a while........

what does that mean? can't be SLI support on a non-SLI mobo?
and I have ran my 9800 GX2 in SLI mode in all bios's (no probs)
but
I am guessing/hoping does this bios give better support to Dual GPU Video Cards?

Wow!
u know when I bought my X58-UD3R I almost bought the X58-UD3R-SLI instead (and I saved money!), but I thought if I wanted SLI I would just buy a newer Dual GPU Video Card.
This is awesome news, but why? (don't get me wrong I am not complaining)
I am assuming:
1. the UD3R-SLI will be discontinued?
or
2. There was pressure from Nvidia (after seeing people flashed a UD3R-SLI Bios into their plain UD3R mobo's)

my bet is on #2, and Nvidia said "f u pay me" for these SLI mobo's u (gigabyte) got for free?

either way THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU GIGABYTE!
(I got a SLI mobo without paying the "Nvidia tax"!!!!!!!! LOL)

btw
is it just me? or is this Bios refined more than just SLI added? seems like I am able to slightly lower my Vcore and VTT by at least 1 notch, and still run P95 all night? (well last night anyway), unless that is a fluke. (but I tried every bios before, and under 1.5v before and would wake up to a BSOD every time)
Never tested Cold Boot issue yet, as I ran all night. But so far I AM LOVING THIS NEW BIOS!!!!
