I updated to U1a (UEFI BIOS) for my z68a-d3h-b3 and now every time I turn on my pc, it turns on and off for about three times and after that it boots.So annoying...

Hi all,

Have been scouring the net for Gigabyte mods and this site stood out as the one containing the most useful information!

So I hope you don't mind me asking but is it possible to have SLI on a Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H? Either by hacking the bios or by a mod?

Hey guys, new to the forum, registered to post in this thread. Just got my Gigabyte UD5 X79 + i7 3820 setup, im loving the motherboard, having some problems getting past 4.3Ghz stable though.
Atm I can reach 4.3Ghz on stock volts and rock solid stable with about 50c temps, once I try to alter the BLCK strap to get higher it becomes unstable.
I noticed the latest bios '12f' allows you to save overclocking profiles, could somebody save and share there own i7 3820 + UD5 OC profile and I could test it on my rig?

In addition every time I cold boot my pc I receive a bsod. After 1-2 restarts everything works fine. I have CORSAIR SSD 128GB. It could be BIOS related problem.

I think the UD5 is the best mobo I've ever used, real quality board, the downside is it seems very temperamental lol, if I try and mess with the settings to much it'll give me a never ending boot cycle .

Would really appreciate someone upload there saved overclock profile of UD5 X79 + i7 3820 at say 4.5Ghz+, so I can see if it's something im doing wrong or whether my board just won't be stable with adjusted BLCK Straps...

Think i'll grab a 3930K in the future, being unlocked will make overclocking easier, would like to push past 4.3Ghz barrier that I have with the 3820..

Will there be an update for the GA-z68mx-ud2h b3 to allow overclocking on the ivy bridge K series? I'm using the F13 bios for my z69mx-ud2h and my i5 3570k multiplier is stuck at 38X, and most of the advanced frequency settings do not work.

Will there be a BIOS update to allow overclocking of the Ivy Bridge K-series, and if so, how soon?

If not, I will get a z77 and use my z68 as a futuristic tea tray.

Still waiting for a BIOS update for the ga-z68x-ud7-b3 as well. I've been buying Gigabyte motherboards for about 15 years now... might have to give another brand a try after waiting so long for Ivy chips to work properly on this one.

:).

1) Clear CMOS
2) save and reset or power off and then power on
3) set CPU multi and RAM multi to minimum, and set strap to 1.25
4) save and reset (should not get stuck in post anymore at this point))
5) Set CPU and RAM multi to a normal value (CPU 36x, RAM to whatever suits your sticks)
Disbale dynamic CPU core voltage, and set it to about 1.35V-1.40 for 4.5 GHz. (Do some fine tuning later, maybe you need less voltage)
And,Important:
6) Set PCH voltage to 1.20V or a little more!

PLEASE NOTE: The LAST step has not been mentioned anywhere yet. I found this to be crucial for the 3820s, because strap overclocking rises the DMI2 clock speed. The DMI2 throughput goes from 3333 GT/sec to 5000 according to CPU-Z. CPU-Z calls it QPI clock but matter of factly it's too low for QPI, they rather mean the external CPU bus which is DMI2. Apparently the PCH/Southbridge gets OVERCLOCKED....

You should be on the right path now and able to enter the BIOS again without a reboot loop. Let me know if that works.

You should see the BIOS stating clock speed at 4500 Mhz now and BCLK at 125.

PS: This should work with all the Gigabyte X79 boards. UD3, UD5, UD7 or Assassin

That seems to have made it stable, just ran full 3D mark performance benchy and about 10 mins of Prime95 @ 4.5Ghz, these progs crashed immediately before changing the PCH volts to 1.2v..

Its not that Stasio is trying to mislead users or not offering all or any information. He post what he is told from his contacts with Gigabyte. If they dont give him a change log how can he post what was changed???? Some times he may go back and add the info in later when he gets it, so if you dont see any info at first check back later to see if he has added any.

Right ^^^ and I already explain to this guy(s) on OCN forum (TT forum posting counterfeit BIOS !!) to read "Warning" first on the top of first page.

I have no intention to answer people who flaming arround the forums about the BIOS ,without proper information and knowledge.
