  • Re: GIGABYTE Modified Bios

I hate to open an old topic but I have an issue as well.

I finally am using a USB 3.0 device (new phone) before I updated to FF3 I had no problem with it detecting my note 3 usb 3.0 phone. However for the last 6 months after updating I can use the USB 3.0 port as USB 2.0 (I think its 2.0 speeds) but nothing is detected as 3.0.

I really could use some advice I have tried revo uninstalling all my 3.0 drivers but have had no luck with using my motherboard with USB 3.0

Does anyone have any ideas, or can direct me maybe to the right drivers to use in case I am using the wrong ones?? I really would appreciate the help:

    System:
    X5660 Xeon @ 4.56ghz
    12 GB ram 6 x 2GB
    SLI GPU
Raid 0 in intel ports for Pro 840
all other ports used on 3TB WD Red drives

Would love any input, I have a Dell monitor with a USB Hub but even that wont detect USB 3.0.

Please help me if you have any input

EDIT:So far I have uninstalled the Renesas usb 3.0 driver and reinstalled I also have installed / de installed the NEC driver. What should I be using? With this, the USB 3.0 devices (Note 3 phone) will respond, but will not enable into usb 3.0. My dell 30" usb 3.0 hub when connected will be detected, however I get the message " connect to a usb 3.0 device for a faster connection"

Hi, Could someone mod a Z77X-UP5 TH F12 BIOS and add Intel UEFI RAID "SataDriver" module to it?
      Thanks :-).

These modded BIOS are great... but I have a question.

        I have a Gigabyte z77x-ud5h

At least one of the modded bios (f16 mod 11 I believe) completely removed my ability to boot from USB devices, so I had to revert back to the official f15q BIOS.

Is there a way to know ahead of time which modded bios have USB booting disabled/enabled?

        Thanks!

@Priskvark: another possible factor is the Gigabyte z77x-ud5h board revision: 1.0 vs 1.1, which is printed near the first PCIe slot.
The difference between the 2 versions is: updated VIA USB 3.0 controller chip + updated Marvell SATA controller chip.

I thought there was only a F7c that was out ? i am currently using a SLIC 2.1 modded F7a bios.
but if there is anything improved i would also like to know though not many people know what is new with these bios`s. the bios makers are pretty dam vague in what they say is optimized or whats new.

EDIT: guess there is a F7d released, can someone work there magic on it please.

I will ask again, will someone be so kind and update the Gigabyte z97soc force board bios please.
                              --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Work there magic on the F7D bios and add it to the OP page as i see no Z97 modded bios`s in there only Z87 modded bios`s.
i would stop asking but i just dont know how to modify update it myself with all the tweaks and stuff.

Hi my board is p45-ds3 rev 1.0 and I'm using f10e bios.

Recently I tried going into the BIOS during bootup by pressing the Del key on my USB keyboard but it does not work. This key definitely working as I've tested it as I'm typing this.

The F12 key to boot which device works fine when bootup.

I tried a PS2 keyboard and it's work but any idea why the USB keyboard does not work?
