Figured out how to do cbrom 1.98 magic
            Finally, some Z68 lovin'!
Didn't try to update the realtek pxe rom, not worth it anyway because PXE is only used if you want to boot from the device OSIT.

            Z68AP-D3 ver2 Bios FD

            Update with...
            Intel Raid Rom 11.5.0.1347
Download Z68AP-d3-ver2-fd-raid11.5.0.1347.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

            Used Q-flash to update.
Runs fine with Intel RST driver 11.5.0.1149 and 11.5.0.1153 (update).
Running SSD caching acceleration, with the rest of the SSD as OS C: drive.
Make sure to follow the typical flashing directions.

edit: Both ver 1.0 and 1.3 of this board shows the same exact bios file on the gigabyte website. With the other board I posted (Z68AP-D3), v1 and v2 are different, even using different names (FD vs F8).

                  • Re: Gigabyte Modified bios

                    Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, and new to bios modding and installing of modded bios. so i'm here to ask some help:

I've got a GA-x58A-UD5 rev1 board, with intel rom 8.9.xxxxxx. Recently i've purchased two 3TB drives, which aren't completely recognised by intel. it only sees 748GB.
I'm confident that updating the intel rom to 10.5+ would solve my problem. i've already used original supplied gigabyte bioses (F7j and F8) but with those the intel rom isn't updated.....
Therefore i've downloaded GA-X58A-UD5 Rev 2.0 Bios ff3 Complete Mod. but i've some questions left:

                    1. this mod says it's for rev2.0. can it also be used with rev1.0?
                    2. how do i have to install this bios mod? there're serveral apps: @bios, flashpi, qflash, CBROM, etc.
@bios says "bios partnumber (award) is not correct!", Qflash gives a checksum error, and flashpi isn't usable in Win7 x64. for CBrom i don't know which version i need, and where to get it...

So if someone can help me, i appriciate it much.

                    Thanks in advance.

                    • Re: GIGABYTE Modified Bios

No rev 1.0 and rev 2.0 take different bios files.

As for updating the bios it is suggested that you use q-flash for all bios flashing needs. There how ever 1 exception and that is when flashing from a 1mb file to a 2mb file you will need to use @bios. After that you can continue to use q-flash.

If you like I can mod a bios for you later tonight.

They said I need an updated raid orom (option rom) for my motherboard on OCZ forums. But, I have no idea about this. This topic looks like what I need. Any help?

Is your intel controller set to raid? If not and it is set to ahci like it should, getting a modded bios with the latest raid rom wont help.

Ok "Who" said you need an updated raid orom? I looked into your bios and confirmed with gigabyte webpage for your board, and your board does not support raid. It has nothing do with your board having ICH9 chipset.

I can add in the Raid rom but I dont know how your board is going to react to the modded bios as the original bios does not have a raid rom listed.
