Any chance we see a UEFI BIOS release for the P67A-UD4-B3? There is a release for the UD3, but none of the others? Should I give up and just buy another board since there hasn't been a BIOS release in almost a year and a half?
I just the new f20a and f20b bios on my GA Z77XUD3H.
I found that my memory speed was only at 1333 Mhz using both XMP profile and manual setting. My memory is rated at 1600 Mhz (corsair vengeance cmz16gx3m4x1600c9). There is no problem on bios f19f.
Is it a bug on these two new beta bios? Any one experience the same?
It still loops the boot, but with IGFX only you can go in UEFI sometimes (that's how I found out that CSM resets to Never in the first place; first time I actually thought I fried my HD7970).
1. You might want to start your own thread for this, so we dont clog up Stasio's bios thread.
2. Why did you use @bios to flash bios? Not wrong just not advised to unless need for like x79 users were GB updated Q-flash.
3. Even thought you selected to load defaults, it is still suggested that you enter bios immediately after first boot and load optimized defaults. Save and exit, then renter bios and make your changes.
4. After clearing Cmos you need to enter (Try to enter) bios and again load optimized defaults before letting it try and boot to windows.
Can you get back into the bios and reflash F16 from q-flash and then load optimized defaults after first reboot and see if you can boot into windows, either before or after making your changes?
1. It's clearly the problem with UEFI as it started with particular version and is reproducible 100% with all new updates forward. All older revisions are still flashing without any issues. My only purpose here is to give a feedback with any details that are needed to fix it.
2. Using @BIOS is actually much more convenient to use and I don't think there is much of a difference how you program the firmware.
3. I did try loading defaults after flashing, but it doesn't matter: it still loops after the second restart.
4. I'd gladly do so, but it still have this problem that it starts to loop after reset.
Hi 13xforever! With my Z77X-UP5 TH i've experienced similar issues to yours (boot-loop, impossibility to enter BIOS and even clear CMOS didn't help) and i've resolved flashing the same version of ME firmware on both BIOSes (main and backup).
I don't have derived the answer to my problem from official documentation or not, and this is my reasoning which, starting from an assumption led me to think about a potential condition and following this road led me to solve the problem. :)
It seems that the two BIOSes present in Gigabyte motherboards have the individual version of the ME firmware potentially unrelated but, from what i've discovered in my case, there may be a part of ME firmware's core that is shared as well are some vital functions of the BIOSes (date, time and language system).
Having two versions of the BIOSes so distant as well as the ME firmware, probably the core of the ME firmware that is potentially shared wasn't the same micro-code and creates problems in the management of the motherboard base functions from the boot.
Considering a situation with less serious problems of mine or yours, such as the boot correctly made and the subsequent ability to access the BIOS, one example of this "behaviour" was the base clock not working properly (showed as less than 100.00 Mhz and was disabled the possibility to change it) as reported by many users (including myself) when flashing modded BIOSes that were including the latest version of the ME firmware.
Updating the two BIOSes as follows:
1) Main BIOS with the latest Beta (in my case F12J) + latest version of the ME firmware (V.8.1.30.1350) manually updated after BIOS flash
2) Backup BIOS with the latest official stable version (in my case F11) + latest version of the ME firmware (V.8.1.30.1350) manually updated after BIOS flash
i didn't have problems with boot-loop, i was able to access the BIOS, load the optimized parameters and then set the BIOS options and parameters of the CPU OC.
Everything worked as expected without an issue or a glitch. ;)
Try this option and let me know if this worked even for your case.

That's nice to know for a future reference, but in this case all of the versions in question are with 8.1.30 version of MEI.
PS: I really tried everything I could think of, guys. So I don't see the point in trying to troubleshoot it much longer. This is a compatibility problem with my revision of the board I think, which was most likely introduced with added support for rev. 1.1.

No, this is the ME firmware not the MEI driver set...
On Z77 you can't update to newer ME firmware version because the V.9 of ME firmware is implemented on Z87 chipset.
MEI Drivers can be updated as well as released and as indicated by INTEL.

ME firmware 8.1.40.1416 (suitable for Z77 chipset boards) has been available for several weeks now.
ME Firmware 9.0.20.1447 (suitable for Z87 chipset boards) is the latest version for that series of boards.

Yeah...you're right, infact i've flashed the ME firmware V.8.1.40.1416 and not the oldest version as i wrote some post above.

Hey Stasio, just wanted to report that the beta BIOS F14k for Z77M-D3H on my wife's pc is running great, the beta BIOS reported on the main website F14d had a lot of issues inlcuding not being able to recognise the keyboard during boot up so disabling the ability to get into BIOS, this issue is not there in the last stable BIOS F13, so it might be worth changing the beta BIOS reported on the main website to F14k for those that want Secure Boot option.
Overall it runs great. The interface itself is more fast and fluid, the mouse works better (wasn't working in f3u). A few issues
#1.) I've found are that if I adjust BCLK or BCLK Strap (gear ratio) either one, like to 105 or 100/1.25, I can't boot the system. The board powers up and it seems like it's going to boot, fans spool up a few seconds and it seems like when the GPU should kick on the display, the board shuts down abruptly and then cycles and starts to boot BIOS but blank screens, then reboots and boots back into BIOS with a failed boot error.
The good thing about this is that after one failed boot and power cycle BIOS boots and gives the failed boot message and lets you change the settings. On f3p, f3t, and f3u my board would just keep looping in the power cycle until I killed the PSU a minute and cold booted or I reset CMOS, so I got to see the feature working like it should.
The bad news is after a lot of attempts I've never gotten an adjusted BCLK to boot. I've tried changing a lot of the new settings that are present for IB but haven't booted one time with an adjusted BCLK.
Regular overclock by multiplier works good, and my overclocks were stable too.
#2.) PWM Phase Control Setting seems to be missing or not where it's listed in the description. In Advanced Voltage/ 3D Power it starts with the CPU load line calibration, typically theres the option at the very top right above LLC. This setting is an important one, so it's possible that maybe this setting not being there or not being adjusted is part of the cause for the BCLK boot problems, but I'm thinking if it was the sole cause, when I adjusted BCLK and reduced the multiplier for stock clock speeds it would attempt to boot at least.
#3.) In advanced frequency settings, the "Spread Spectrum" setting is there but its set on auto and it's not changeable, so I can't disable it. My limited knowledge doesn't know if this is part of the first issue.
It's a ton of new features, and I'm very thankful to have them because it makes it easier to take advice and follow guides from Asus board users because Gigabyte BIOS now has most of the same settings and controls as the other board manufacturers that are shown in guides and screenshots.
I'm not complaining, just wanted to pass this on to gigabyte hopefully because there aren't a lot of users providing X79-UP4 beta feedback it seems.

I have the same board and the same issue with kingston 1600mhz rams. But this problem is only with the modded ud3h f20 bios. the one that gigabyte has released doesnt have this problem. i can set memory frequency to 1600 mhz.

i have tried several times. in all cases modded bios always set memory frequency to 1333mhz. but i used @bios. i will try with qflash today and see if it helps.

I used Qflash on both F20 a and b modded. I will try the original one.
