(I got EX58-UD5 on F13w)
On cold boot it doesn+t check memory so boot process is faster.

hi just liek to report i was having cold boot issue with my overclocked ex58-ud5 i installed the 13w bios and now allmos tworks perfect still nto as good as my other ud5 mobo but its a massive improvment
one thing i noticed is with this new bios it dosent pick up my cd drive i thort my drive was dead i booted to windows and it works fine just the new bios dosent detect it i then put me old ide drive in and that was detected can others please check that ther sata cd drive is being detected by the 13w ud5 bios
It should skip memory on every boot not just cold boot. Also you should notice you dont see the IRQ list. That gets skipped.
I never notice those because my screen takes a little longer to respond I guess. So by the time I got picture I already see the windows boot logo. But that aside I meant I see zero difference, speed-wise.
There is anything else with this F5 bios on this motherboard? F4 was the same update for 22nm... They fix bugs from F4? I had F4 and it was making double the time to post, switched back to F3 and its rock solid stable on 4.0 ghz with i5 2500k

Comptatibility on sata 3 controoler and 3TB Hitachi drives
I found a compatiblity problem with my 3TB Hitachi drives SATA 3 and the onboard SATA 3 controllers. It take make some time to discover it. First I was thinking it was my previous motherboard, and EVGA Classified E759. Replace with the P67A-UD7-B3 which was the best motherboard in that time. I have 5 hitachi 3TB, when I connect to the sata 3, it takes a lot to pass the first boot screen on detecting hdd. Sometimes it detects fine, sometimes 1 o 2 disppear from the list. When I connect to the intel sata 2 controller, all fine. The problem is I have now using 5 disk and the intel is only 4. I contact gigabyte and their answer was to send for rma. I try with the lastest F6 beta bios from here but the same problem happens. So I'm using 4 drives on sata 2. I saw some compatibility for the sata 3 controller, but it seems didn't include these hdd. Any news on that?
Can anyone help me with modding Gigabyte X48-DQ6 F8i bios (1MB)?
In the past (K8NSNXP and others) I used cbrom .
Right know I whant to add new Realtek and JMB ROM and others things if something new I will find.
I used cbrom as aways but before flashing Qflash says "Invalid Bios Image".
OK. Then I tried @BIOS 2.10 and it successfully flashed bios but after reboot I get black screen with BIOS Auto Recovering.
OK. Then I tried to flash bios starting with old bios F6,F7... with no option "Keep DMI Data" and in this situation Q-Flash updated bios but after that I still got black screen with BIOS Auto Recovering.
I want to put some new part of bios X48-DQ6 and put here after testing but bios is always recovering. I don't whant to do any hardware mods. Strange. How bios F8i was builed? I don't have problems with this upgrade.
Thanks for help.
Anyone have a modded F6 with a newer Intel ROM working/using it? I'd appreciate it...Thanks!
