Have you heard anything about Gigabytes X79 UD5 having issues with SSDs on the Intel controller? I tried to raid two OCZ Max IOPS together and they failed 2 times after a reboot
Then I had a friend try to load windows on his Vertex 3 Non MAX IOPS drive and he was able to get into windows and load the CD drivers. But upon reboot he was blue screening.
He even tried it on the Sata 2 Intel ports and the same thing.
THen he loaded it on the Marvel controller and it worked fine. I have not tried to raid on the marvel controller yet.
Is there any news from anywhere about an issue with the Sata ports on X79 OR Gigabytes UD5 alone?
I would think since both of us have similar experiences that there is an issue with it.
Thanks
Have you updated your SSD firmware to the newest from OCZ? There were bugs in the Sandforce controller FW that were supposedly recently fixed.

can someone provide the link to the latest jmicron bios rom, and intels, also realteks rom, im in email contact with gigabyte and need to provide the sources so they can check compatabilty for my mobo and maybe write me a bios if alls good, im having problems with jz's fh5 bios for ga-x58a-ud3r rev2 and jmicron bios, so i need the version and links please, ive looked but cannot find
I used my modded version of the x58a-ud5 rev2 bios that has the latest intel rom and the jmicron rom. I know the latest intel room will not show the raid rom screen if only 1 drive is connected to the intel sata2 controller. It will only show you the ahci rom screen. I dont know the same for the jmicron as I have that controller set to ahci.
The jmicron controller is the 2nd sata2 controller. The sata3 controller is a marvell controller.

I've updated my x58a-ud7 (rev.1) with no success to bios ver F9d. It was different versions (official, modded with different ROMs), but no luck. System doesn't boot successfully stopping on black boot screen with 'Starting Windows' and nothing goes on. Had to go back to ver F8.
I think the trouble is my F60 Force SSD with FW ver 2.4, I don't know.
Latest GA-X58A-OC F5D BIOS DOES NOT WORK if using Intel RAID + Marvell RAID at the same time
@stasio - If you use both of the controllers in RAID in F5D Marvell never loads, and it never reports an error either. I see that you guys were trying to add proper support for both of these running at the same time but so far it is not working correctly. F5D as it stands now is defective as Intel RAID and Marvell RAID cannot be used simultaneously. I would appreciate it if somebody can address this problem. I use both of these controllers in RAID and it is impossible to do this in BIOS F5D. Furthermore, once Intel updates their RAID option ROM for TRIM support it will be impossible for anyone to use the new option ROM and still be able to continue using Marvell RAID. You had the right idea definitely, but I do not think that the change was tested properly.
You think that using large bold coloured font will accomplish anything more than people thinking "omg another idiot"?
No, actually I was thinking of you when I did it. For the rest it is just there in order to be able to see the summary of the post if they do not feel like reading the rest it. Also, I was the one that requested the change in the first place so I think that it is pertinent that I point out that it does not work. For those that wish to have more information, they are welcome to read the rest of the post. Finally, this is more than just an incovenience as the BIOS actually fails to allow the OS to load if you have Intel RAID option ROM and Marvell ROM enabled at the same time. Couple that with no information around the release of this BIOS and the change specifics other than "increased compatibility between Intel and Marvell" and I think it's worth the "large bold coloured font". ;)
Thanks for the Bios post. I just wish it weren't on a site where all the links try to download viruses and exe files to my computer, all because it's impossible to find the proper dl link :( (i found it tho)
