Question. My GA-Z87X-UD5H board has a physically switchable dual bios. Bios 1 currently has F7 on it and bios 2 has F3 which originally came on the board.
Can I switch to bios 2, manually flash F8f beta to it and keep bios 1 as it is with F7. That way I can keep a known working bios on #1 that I can easily switch to and experiment with betas on #2.
Has anyone actually done this?
Thanks

Sure. You can run from either BIOS, and store whatever BIOS you want in the other position.
I keep F8e mod 2 for my main and F7 for my backup....

Reason I was asking is the 5H MB manual says it won't work. It claims the backup bios (#2) cannot be updated manually for safety.
I'm not doubting you but check out page 89, section 5-1, what is dualbios? Whats up with that?
Well try it for yourself.
Flip the switch and use Qflash to flash the 2nd BIOS.
or
Keep hitting Alt + F10 on boot to make the backup the same as the main
or
Flip to backup, and keep hitting Ctrl + F10 on boot to make main same as backup. (I did this with Z77, haven't done it with Z87 but should work).

I'm posting this for any one using the Gigabyte Assassin 2. The G1.Assassin 2 - F12y BIOS is complete and total crap. I'm a computer person I know these things. I installed it and did the obligatory tweaks only to find out that it is a half baked disaster. I went back to the latest Gigabyte official BIOS rev W and everything is back to it's normal 4.3 Ghz OC stable. I wonder if the people who are publishing these BIOS's even have the hardware to test it on??? Beware and don't bother flashing the G1.Assassin 2 - F12y. Seriously and if you do (actually own Gigabyte Assassin 2) respond to this to let others know of your "success" after installing the "latest Beta BIOS".
