Most are based on the names the Ab's gave the areas then most of the rest are after dead poms. ;)

I didn't think of that, but it makes since. Same here, I guess. Especially, area that were populated by Native American in the later part of the century. County where I grew up was Cuyahoga, it means crooked. Named for the river in the area. :laugh:

thats ok JM, you Americans just have a problem with our pronunciations, after all Australia is actually pronounced Ostrailya with the accent on the end and not on the beginning, and other towns for example, Wagga Wagga, are actually pronounced Wogga Wogga, ............ all in the accent ;)
