Do you know what your doing?

My old XpertVision 6200 AGP (128MB/128bit) would overclock like a demon.

    Core: 425mhz

I love the cooling mod in that pic, also the static free situation it is resting in .......

What are you using to overclock? RivaTuner? Coolbits?

When you say it 'wont work" could you be a little more specific ....... what won't work?

Just a little check ..... you are overclocking the 3D and not the 2D clock speeds?

well for over clocking i mean like i can over clock my memory from 400 to 500mhz but when i go to overclock the core clock it just wont accept and i can move the mouse but cant do anything i also use coolbits 2.0 to overclock

Try using RivaTuner to enable driver level overclocking, then try to overclock from the Nvidia control panel.

I'm guessing that when you state " ...... but when i go to overclock the core clock it just wont accept and i can move the mouse but cant do anything ....." that the slider will not move, yes?

You should be overclocking the 3D setting so that is not the problem.

Also, what driver are you using?

                  Re: overclock the bfg6200

well im using the newest drivers for nvidia plus its always been like this with any drivers its when i go to over clock the core clock i do like 375 to 378 and it will just puse it stays like that for ever so i have to re start plus im fine with overclocking memory but i can only go up 115mhz before it says the satting you chose are to high turn them down

What result do you get when you use Nvidia control panel "Detect Optimal Settings"

when i do detect optimal setting i get core clock 405 and mem clock 467

by the way how old r u im only 15

This is good, it means that you can overclock the core to 405 from 375. This now leads to another avenue, the programme you are using to oc, if the card clocks to 405 with detect optimal settings the problem must lie elsewhere, e.g. Coolbits or the way you are using it.

Personally I enable driver level overclocking through RivaTuner and adjust clock frequencies via the Nvidia control panel, isn't Coolbits the one with the power user option? (been a while since I used it)

My age ....... lets just say I've got 30 years on you

EDIT: What output is your psu? Also, after using detect optimal frequencies can you move the slider anymore than 405 on the core clock?

The BFG runs it's memory @ 400mhz stock??????? that's weak for a BFG card.

My xpertVision one (pictured in this thread's 2nd post) had it's RAM stock at 500mhz.
