wazza, the max I could get Afterburner to go was 1200 on the core clock, no matter what I changed in the .ini file. On the good side I've been able to clock the memory up to 1500 but without more core clock opening up I won't make 10000 in 3DMark 11. So with the 1200 core clock and 1500 memory OC I made 9530.
I tried both BIOS but no go past 1200 in Afterburner, same with the PowerColor OC utility.

im pretty sure asus gpu tweak lets you go higher than 1200mhz core,i havent used it for a while so cant remember,it should work for your card though

i checked,it lets you go to 1800mhz core 2400mhz memory with gpu tweak

It wouldn't let me go past 1200, plus there was no voltage adjustment, only core and memory.

did you look in all the settings? i think you have to unlock voltage adjustment with afterburner and gpu tweak,ive had mine upto 1.150mhz core so far with 1.15v

No go. I'll switch back to the other BIOS in case I missed something, but I think I'm on the better BIOS now.

Max Afterburner would let me do is 1200 core / 1600 memory. It still had plenty of gas left, shame I couldn't get any apps to give me more core clock.

What is the model number of your Powercooler HD 7950?
Their website lists five different 7950 models.

See if your scores improve with somewhat lower memory speeds (25, 50, or 75MHz lower).
I think that if memory speeds are too high, your video card will automatically lower memory speed to a point where it no longer detects memory errors.

I've moved the mem clock up and down, and actually the higher I clock the memory the higher 3DMark score I get, since like I say the core clock is maxed.
The only thing left to try I know of is Trixx, I saved it for last since it gave me so many fits with my crossfired 6850's with lockups. But so far every tuning utility has me hard limited at 1200 core so I'm starting to think it's a BIOS thing.

Alright wazza!
OK here was the deal with MSI Afterburner. The newest version does not include atipdlxx.dll . Once I dropped this in the AB directory it allowed me to increase my core clock above 1200!
I finally quit OC the card when I hit my goal of a 3DMark11 score of 10000. Final settings were : 1250 core clock / 1700 memory clock @ 1212mv. I might could have dropped the voltage more but since I don't run it at this clock all the time I didn't care. BTW the highest temp I saw after endless back to back benching was 43C. (under water)

I haven't seen too many with these cards so I don't know what kind of performance others get, but I guess it does OK for a single 7950. Sure would like to get another and Crossfire, although I really don't need one for one monitor. Newegg seems to have quit selling this model.

one will be more than enough imo,it allready outperforms a stock 7970 card,see how low you can get the voltages now ect

dont be scared to downclock the memory because after a certain point it auto downclocks the memory to remain stable and will affect the score

At the end being able to clock the memory higher let me keep from raising the voltage higher. Looking at the graphs in AB looks like while it's benching it's keeping the clocks right on target. I use profiles so that it downclocks after the bench/gaming session.

Yeah if I added another card it would only be for bling. I know I don't need one, I'm already getting this Switch pretty full. Got that mod fever though......lol.

are you disabling onboard graphics in the bios? and setting pci-e#1 as first initial display?
