Looks like I'll be returning the card.
Gigabyte Superclocked edition just became available (back in stock) so might switch to that one,.
Was my prefered choice anyways,..

i would rma too,it should work perfect out of the box imo,any issue and i would return it,good luck ive had to do rma on new gpu aswell in the past but second one worked fine

Back again,..

With a shiny new GPU.
Gigabyte GTX 570 Superclocked edition.

Dropped it in changed Bios to PCIx16 and simply needed to restart windows.
Works great,.
Ran Heaven benchy and my horizontal fuzzy line is gone
Ran Resident Evil 5 benchy ,..lines gone.
Ran KMARK test and fuzzy line gone but the vertical lines I posted earlier are still there. I've been informed by MSI that these are supposed to be there so no need to worry.

Better benchies from this GPU too!



All up and runing now,..
To do list includes:

Ram Disk potential for Web browser cache.
Restore backed up files.
and Play BF3!

ive been playing around with hyperthreading and ibt shows higher gflops with it disabled which is weird,maybe i should have gone down the 2500k route also? managed to run ram at 1866 and got good read/write figures but couldnt pass ibt with it that high,i needed more than 1.2v qpi/vtt or vccio which isnt advised,maybe its because its tri channel memory from x58? waiting on some cheap dual channel 1.5v ram,just thought id post results out of interest,ive seen 2500k chips reach 1.26 gflops at 4.5ghz

i would get a good quality cooler deafty,this akasa nero s is pretty rubbish,ideally stay below 72c hottest i got was 80c on one core

That's not new, X58 systems do the same. Linpack is just optimized to use cores so much that virtual cores don't get enough execution time.

Yes you right,I never turned off hyperthreading on my 920 so never saw the difference before

Yes only First gen i7's socket 1366 suffer from low Gflops with HT on. Except i7-980x, 990x

If new cpus are showing low Gflops with HT on then 1, they do not have Win7SP1 installed. 2, They are not using the updated linpack for LinX or IBT. 3, the system is just stable.

Sandy Bridge cpu's with HT behave exactly the same way as first gen i7's, with HT enabled Gflops are always lower.
