    Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200

Update maybe I overlooked something simple to cause this latest problem. I try to start up and the pc beeps while starting and then reboots. I believe I had an overclock going, but it was not that bad. I did also swap out memory to another machine for 3DMARK testing then back to this machine, but I dont see how that could mess things up at all.
I think the video card may have died? Tried to clear the BIOS settings to no avail. EDIT: I am going to pull out the Video card and see if beeping continues...also bought some canned air to clean any contacts that I come across.
Update to this post: Last night I removed the video card and the machine stayed on-no beeps. Then I installed a PCI video card and booted to a solid BEEEEEEEPPPPPPP. This time I try moving RAM to other yellow slot and restart to SAFE MODE. I am able to get to the BIOS then I notice the Red Box alert about incorrect settings causing Reboots. I adjusted certain settings and then reboot to windows. I may need to clear the CMOS(BIOS) and reset everything. I will update BIOS setting sometime later today(after church). everything works now except for the Sound card acts like it needs drivers to be reinstalled?? All software is installed and I can get it to work but then it stops working which is strange. The device manager pops up and asks if I want to install drivers? It was working stable before this event. It is the PCI sound card from "Creative SB X-Fi Extreme Gamer Fatal1ty Pro" (where do they get these names?) I will try googling about this problem later as well....Later Dudes :)
Update to post Sound card went bad and now I am using Onboard sound. I am posting a Memset picture for reference and more if I have time.

            Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200

Sorry L I am trying to pick up this thread after that sound card went out on me and I also had other issues with loose mainbord screws but all seems to be well at the moment. I sent a PM to ProfJim about my current situation and all, so I am just tuning up for now. Will try to get a full template written out to make sure all settings are good.
            Thanks, Max

                Re: BSOD Error codes....

Hi Guys I have some more error codes from aGA-EP45-DS3R (rev1.0) board. They are from a bad stick of RAM as far as I know.
                Here they are:
*** STOP: 0X0000000A (0XFF55D390......) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL this is the first Blue screen I got after I changed memory settings.
                *** STOP: 0X00000024 ......................... NTFS.sys_address B7E7BFCE base at B7E5B000 Datestamp 48025be5
                *** STOP: 0X0000008E ......................... Win32k.sys_address BF801EDB base at BF800000 datestamp 4f0f0ff9
The reason I suspect bad memory is I removed one stick and BLUE screens stopped. With two sticks in the memtest shows lots of errors(memtest included in the GRUB boot loader-most current version I believe).
If I need to test more please advise, thanks....

Hi Lsdmeasap, I think I have one bad stick of RAM, but am still testing when not using my PC(only one stick at a time). Here are my voltages with Easytune 6 (B11.0823.1)

And here is a updated Memset ss of remaining memory. I am working on the
BIOS template now some settings need a bit of overvolting to register correctly in easytune, such as the reference settings I set to .910volts in BIOS and in easytune it shows up as .810volts.

I didn't see no 0.810 in easytune, at 250MHz you shouldn't need t touch any of those.

Here is the preliminary BIOS template which will be modified as advised for better performance. Note: I have only one stick of memory installed as one stick went bad I believe, so I may need to check into a memory survey and consider purchasing memory in the coming months. I am on a tight budget now so value for the dollar is extra important now and any special offers must be considered as well. Note the Blackline memory is no longer being offered by Mushkin so I am at a loss for what to do other than going with a different brand like Gskill :)

Why should you buy new memory when you have liftime warrenty?
What exactly are you trying to do? Can't do much with stock cooler.
and your E8400 is overclocked to 3.16GHz(your sig say MHz)? With a Mugen 2?

You dont see it cuz I saw it first when I had BIOS settings at .9 manual, Easytune displayed .810. I realized this may not be right so I set BIOS at auto to get a good ss I may set it later at a slightly higher value to get reccomended values. This may need to be done as I have lots of setting at auto now. Take these settings for example CPU ref is auto, static Tread is auto,MCH ref is auto ...please advise. Editing my sig now I adjusted the MCH freq latch just before my ram problem did i mess up by setting to 400 setting?

But what is the goal? Is this final CPU OC? What is the goal?
If it is you can set Vcore to normal and LLC enabled I believe for such minor OC.

I guess the goal for now is/was (when I started out) to get system BIOS settings confirmed at a low OC for now. I just finished installing a new drive again, as the previous ones either had firmware problems, or were too slow to be of use for main drive. Its a WD 640 GB SATA2 as seen in my updated sig. I have always wondered how to just choose settings for a moderate OC(or a baseline setup in the BIOS to start out). If you did not know, I just flashed to F11i BIOS to test as well and I just want to be sure of settings. Maybe later I will add the other Mugen cooler, that I have sitting around, on this beast (as time allows). But mainly, I would like to avoid messing up the other stick of RAM for now and just get a moderate OC on a stock cooler.
Thanks I will try your advice.
