    Re: BSOD Error codes....

    @Acebmxer

    After upgrading my System RAM yesterday, I started Tweaking and I got two, "0x124" BSODs.

    I was totally unsurprised because:

    Mushkin Blackline PC3-16000 3x4GB Review :
    Using the XMP profile, the suggested QPI voltage was 1.40V. But, in my case the memory controller wasn't happy until I gave it 1.45V.
    And ur #1 post said:

    0x124 = increase/decrease QPI/VTT first, if not increase/decrease vcore...have to test to see which one it is

      Re: BSOD Error codes....

      If that's in your X58 board then it means you need more QPI/Vtt for sure, P67/Z68 is where it could be either QPI/Vtt or Vcore but it's almost always QPI/Vtt in X58 (Never seen it mean anything else except that on X58)

      12GB is a lot, so I bet you do need 1.4-1.45+ Some CPU's just need more anyway, even with 3x2GB sets, I often use 1.375-1.45 for stock memory speed/timings on a few CPU's I have.

          Re: BSOD Error codes....

          Core i7 875K, got a few BSOD-s lately, so is 0x124 BSOD 100% QPI/VTT related? I'm at 150x28=4200Mhz 1.3625 vCore, QPI/VTT at 1.37V, gave me 0x124 BSOD, now I'm trying 1.39V, is it too much? Noctua NH-14D keeping around 69-66-67-71C core temperatures. Gigabyte P55A-UD4 motherboard. Memory is Kingston 2x4GB currently at 1800MHz 1.58V 10-10-10-24-1T.

            Yes x124 is QPI related and No, 1.39V for QPI isn't too much as long as your temps are manageable under load.

            Good clock on that CPU.

              Thanks Vin, but how far can I go?, now I'm at 1.39V and got BSOD, now trying 1.41V.

              Edit: Now even at 1.41V

              Edit 2: Even 1.43 & 1.45V wtf?

              Edit 3: Now I lowered QPI to 1.33V and upped vCore from 1.36250V to 1.36825V, I test in Xvid4PSP encoding program, normally crashes immediately, but now I've encoded same video two times in a row no 0x124 BSOD, no crashes for now. So i think vCore helped me a lot. Here's the screenshoot. Are the temps ok?
