Re: X58A-UD3R and OCZ gold 1600mhz

      @ wazza
I do not remember if auto raised the ioh v or not . As I posted . I had issues at opt def .
I manuelly set all the voltages to default as I usually do after booting the board a few times . So I started with the ioh at 1.1 and right after the os load and testing I went to 1.2 . I was very reluctant to set any voltages high to start with . This was my 1st I7 build . I am also normally pretty conservative with oc'ing until I learn what my parts like . Then as long as I can control the heat .......its cool .
I should add this . I retimmed the board and removed the Gigabyte plates from the heat sinks . There is a 80mm fan blowing on the ioh sink . Temps run between 37 and 43c depending on load . Ambient 25ish .

My vid card is a Fire v5800 . I do alot of 2d stuff and run Auto Cad here and there .

Major props for what you and LSD do here !!!!

In the next few days I'll get my act together with my info and hope to help when I can .

      Thanks
      j

Re: X58A-UD3R and OCZ gold 1600mhz

IOH should be fine on auto, 1.3 shouldn't be needed at anytime unless you have tons or memory installed and are pushing 210-220+ Bclk and even then less should be fine.

So your thoughts on "Needing" 1.3 may be skewed by some other setting that is off, making it appear that using less than 1.3 MCH is the issue

Hmm yea, upping the IOH core didnt help the crashes at all sadly :(

Gonna switch gfx cards now to see.

Re: X58A-UD3R and OCZ gold 1600mhz

Ok so its not the gfx card, i swapped in my old gefore 8600 gts and had the same problems.

Possible RAM issue even though memtest runs fine?

Currently have the RAM at 1600 mhz with 8-8-8-24 and qpi/vtt at 1.355v.

If i try it at 1066mhz (heard about some issues at 1600) do i just lower the mem frequency and leave the other settings?

              Thanks

Re: X58A-UD3R and OCZ gold 1600mhz

                Voila.

RAM runs fine at 1333 mhz - no crashes for 2.5 hours so far.
I guess the OCZ gold RAM just wont run at 1600 mhz on this board.

Ill let you know if there are anymore crashes :)

Ya lower speeds would work, it could just be that ram or your settings were off for 1600Mhz though.

If you want to try 1600 again let me know and give me your current settings and I will advise back
