Dose it give you better performance? 88 is just fine.

      7-7-8-8 20

Both tRFC 80 and 88 give me the following on Sandra
      Mem bandwidth 8GB/s
      Mem latency 78ns

Is this good performance? and if so should I leave it at 88 then?

        Re: Ga-p35c-ds3r

There is realy no point changing anything unless there is some gain from it.

I can't compare to Sandra as I don't use it, if you run I'll be able to compare.
It's very possible you can lower Static tRead Value to 7 on both channels for better performance.

Looking good man! Chike you are such a help, thanks!

          Keep at it guys!

No tRRD 4-5? Just wondering if you tried, you may have to use 6 though

Hey Chike, sorry m8 but I am not sure which setting Static tRead is?
Hi Lsdmeasap, I have changed tRRD to 5 and will torture test it now, thanks guys ;o)

              Re: Ga-p35c-ds3r

Static tRead Value, is just that in the BIOS (Often referred to as tRD, shows as PL/Performance Level in Memset)

Is this your final overclock or do you plan to try higher?

Have you any more things that I could change in the memory timings?
I may like to try the CPU next, I was hitting the wall @ 400MHz it wouldn't even post at this!

Strange the CPU and the board should have noproblem to do 400+ MHz.
If you can get 428MHz to work and memory multiplier 3.2 it should be able to do CAS 6.

So the stable settings at the moment are
                          7-7-8-20
                          tRFC 80
                          tRD 7
                          tRRD 6
Still running Prime95 and then I will try to go higher with the CPU.

                          MaxxMem results
                          Copy 8102
                          Read 8570
                          Write 7059
                          Latency 58.7ns
What do you think, is this any good?

                            Re: Ga-p35c-ds3r

                            Very good I think.

                            My MaxxMem results for DDR-1066 @ 400MHz FSB 5-5-5-15 tRD 7 tRFC 56 (equal to 84 at 1600)
                            Copy 8917
                            Read 8422
                            Write 8307
                            Laetncy 61.0

Obviousely your latency is much better and probably contribute to the better read as well, the differences in write may be due to the diffferences in chipsets.

Memory frequency is not very important. I am sure you will have overall and even better memory performance with higher FSB, even if you have to compromise memory frequency.
The advantage of high speed memory id not so much it's speed but more the flexability it gives.

Have had to return the tRD to 8 as 7 gave me memtest errors. MaxxMem results have dropped a little but at least it is stable now.
Will try to raise FSB later

Worth testing with tRFC 88 and see which gives better results, that is if it's stable with tRD 7 and tRFC 88.
