    Hi all,

I just purchased a GB GA-M68M-S2 MoBo\CPU combo. My question is: How many case fans can I hookup to it? I have 3, 80cm internal cooling fans and I was wondering if I can just splice the wires together and use the board's Sys Fan connector? Or, would doing it like this keep the fans from running at optimal speed by drawing too much juice? I don't have a sensor on any of the fans.

i dont think it would draw that much power, other way would be to buy a cheap fan controller and hook them up to that, then you can control the speed yourself

A mobo header will be able to supply a minimum of 2A so you will be fine splicing a couple of fans together. If you have the option, replacing two 80MM with a 120 may help both with airflow and eliminating too much splicing, however if the mounts only accept 80mm obviously you'll have to stick with those.

          Re: System Fan

          Hi Psych,

Thanks for the technical info. As it is now, my PSU has 1, 120mm and two 60mm fans. In my case, I've got one fan in front to suck air in, one in back to blow it out and one in the middle that blows upward to the CPU and RAM. As long as I keep it clean, I never have heat problems. I also fashioned a "bra" who's weave is tight enough to keep out a lot of dust, yet isn't so tight it constricts airflow. This is probably 100 times more info than you wanted, so ignore this part and stick with the first sentence.

          Thanks, again, Psych.
