Some things do not add upm please review DRAM Performance Control.
Try to set MCH Core 1.24v if you can do so.

Reviewed DRAM Performance Control. Settings are as shown above:
        DRAM Performance Control
        Performance Enhance...................: TURBO
        Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Disabled
        (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: Auto
        System Memory Multiplier ..............: Auto
        Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 1066
        DRAM Timing Selectable ................: Manual

        Changed MCH Core to 1.24.

Ran Prime95 for almost 8 hours with no errors.

I can do a long Memtest run while I'm out today.

Re: Wow, you guys are awesome

I went back and double checked and that is what it says.

            X.M.P. is DISABLED.

I does have (SPD) to the left on two lines though. That is:

            System Memory Multiplier (SPD): Auto

            and

            DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD): MANUAL

That is different from the template, which doesn't show the (SPD) notation.

And for those settings MemSet will show 533MHz?

Re: Wow, you guys are awesome

Ya got me? I don't know anything about Memset. I run it and get the screen shot.

Seems like I read an explanation somewhere about how with DDR2, the memory speed gets reported as 533 when it's really 1066, (or 400 when its 800 etc) but I can't find that now.

Re: Wow, you guys are awesome

DDR(Double Data Rate) memory makes two data transfers per clcok cycle, therefore it is rated twice it's clcok frequency.

I was just asking if for those settings MemSet still reports 533MHz or does it report 400MHz?

Yes I see it, though it makes no sense, since XMP is disabled and Q9550 default bus frequency is 333MHz it has no reason to set 533MHz and should have been set to 400.

Re: Wow, you guys are awesome

I've got the F10 bios release. Waddayathink?

And while I'm on the subject, when I unzipped it, there were some other files with it:

autoexec.bat (wow, haven't seen that in a while)
                          FLASHPI.exe
and the bios file, itself, P45UD3LR.F10

I don't think I've encountered that before when downloading a bios update from Gigabyte. Got any idea what they're for?

The batch file is "flashspi P45UD3LR.F10". Some kind of DOS bios install utility suppose.

Yes those for flashing from DOS, it's the standard package when u load from GB site.

Probably a good idea to flash the new BIOS since you experiancing problems.

                              Yeap ^^

All you need is the .Fxx BIOS file if you are flashing with Qflash, which I do suggest.

OK then. I've used Qflash before with no problems so maybe this evening.
If I want to drop the ram speed back to 800, what settings do I have to get to that? I'd rather have stable ram at 800 than quirky ram at 1066.
